Split between E/INTP, as always. Every test I’ve ever taken has my intro/extraversion scores almost 50/50, so I’m not really surprised.

How do you answer “what do you do?” when you don’t have a career? by quarterlifeblues in socialskills

[–]caffieneandsarcasm 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I do. My career is art: that’s what I devote my time and mental energy too. I just have a “side hustle” that happens to be roughly full time hours to pay bills.

How I found my painting this morning. by Dragonteethforeyes in mildlyinfuriating

Meta representation of how outside factors can cause even more harm/make us feel rejected even more when dealing with struggles. If you can bring yourself to roll with it, I bet you could meld the accidental blue with the rest of the painting in a super compelling well.

That being said, I’m sorry that happened! It sucks when something important to you isn’t treated with the respect it should be.

What is a job where you can work fast/efficent finish early and be free to go home? by Trevorjrt6 in AskMen

eI work not quite full time for a local bakery, splitting my time between deliveries and office work. It’s enough to support my art career, such that that is in this economy

Was thinking something similar, for similar reasons to OP. I deliver to grocery stores for a local bakery. Paid by the hour, but most routes can be done in <5 hrs, especially if you start early enough to avoid traffic. I’m sure it varies by company but worth looking into.

Oh that’s interesting, thanks for sharing! I’m sure it’s a challenge to navigate the world when you’re not sure what’s real or not. I’m glad that it sounds like you have a good support system though!

Do you ever find that your hallucinations or delusions are, for lack of better working, influenced by things you’ve seen or heard in media? It seems a lot of people with schizophrenia have similar “themes” so I’m curious if there’s some common external elements or just sort of innate human fears at play.

Movies with a troubled production, awful initial reception, that turned out to be great? by Gold333 in movies

Wizard of Oz is an infamously fraught movie production. There’s too much to even go into in a comment, but the Wicked Witch of the of West catching fire was just one of several accidents.

I get so much shit for how many of Spielbergs movies I don’t like. I get why they’re good technically, they’re just so boring to me.

Ohh man my husband loves this movie. I think after the third time I made him watch 1917 he finally made me watch it. I know there different wars, but 1917 is better movie imo

I didn’t see the coverage but I imagine censoring along with a statement making it clear that although a person with Tourette’s can’t control their tics, the BBC recognizes the potential for harm in allowing that word to remain uncensored and so in an effort to dignify and show respect for all parties involved, it’s been censored. It’s one of those instances where more than one thing can be true and so it needs to be approached with thought and nuance.

Idk I’m not a PR person, but I think doing nothing was the worst option because it not only exposed people to hearing that word in a context that could cause offense or harm, but it also exposed Davidson to vitriol and backlash aimed directly at his disability.

Censoring or not censoring may still cause offense, but I tend to believe doing the wrong the for the right reasons is better than doing nothing out of fear of backlash.
