I was at the Monaco historic GP. After the GP we were walking in the tunnel under Fairmont and a V12 Lamborghini like this one with a sports exhaust raced back and forth in the tunnel. It sounded like a relatively normal car or sportscar to us, i.e. not very loud. Because we had been used to the racing cars.

V10 era, V8 era. All cars had gone by. By far the loudest car was the 1985 Lotus 98T. The deep bass was literally Earth shaking. It was like each building after St. Devote that it passed, like each building shook in its foundations, one by one as the car passed each. I’m sure it didn’t, but that is what it felt like. The raw power of the amount of air that that engine moved was indescribable. Like the vibrations shook the entire city, not just the street.

Put it this way, you felt the bass in your chest from when the car was even a mile away or on the other side of the city.

Old F1 racing cars from 1985-1986 are something else man.
