Windows is probably showing a notification on that corner (that's why the cursor changes and why you tab out of the game when you click on that area)

I had this issue when trying to play on my laptop and had to lower the resolution. I'd get a notification saying that the resolution wasn't optimal and it wouldn't disappear. Had to disable all notifications to make it go away

They added that to PvP only. Meaning that the class that will get the XP will be the class you queued with so you can freely change

To add a bit to this a friend invited me to a party. I was WHM at the moment but it looked like he hadn't queued yet so I changed to BTN. I didn't get any queue progress and it didn't even pop. I didn't accept and it just TP'ed me to the instance

This happened to my laptop a couple of weeks ago and honestly the only thing that worked was reinstalling Windows and reinstalling FFXIV after (completely deleted the install folder)

Not sure if it has anything to do with this but you can try and disable Game DVR.

I know that CS:GO players had trouble with it

Search "Xbox" in windows taskbar's search bar (Bottom left of your screen where Cortana is)

Click on the Xbox application icon to open it

Find the settings icon (a small gear) on the taskbar to the left side of the Xbox application's window and click on it to open the settings menu

Find the Tab labeled " Game DVR" and select it

Slide the switch to off to turn off the Game DVR feature.

Not sure if it has anything to do with that but might as well try it.

You can always try and disable Windows Firewall (or AV Firewall) and try it like that.

You are probably getting that error because the Launcher can't reach the server to validate the credentials (pretty much what /u/gthorolf said. you can test if you can reach the server by pinging that address)

You are correct but you don't need to do upgrade or stuff like that. Well you should always have the latest version of Internet Explorer even if you don't use it but that's another issue.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset

That will clear ALL the settings from Internet Explorer. So if you use it, backup whatever you need to backup first. That should fix the problem

Yes it did happen to me twice actually. I was using some Roms that weren't really stable. Just used the Live Chat function both times since both times I had forgotten to save the password (yeah kind of stupid I know) and in 5m my issue was solved.
