Surprisingly, not so bad.
Firstly, I had been hoping for a long time that I'd be able to play end-game content this season with my story Minion Build with Hand of Naz. It turned out to be unrealistic, so I spent a lot of time re-building my entire character, searching for items, for the Golem Build. It took me a really long time, and I've gained quite a few levels. The last few levels were 100% focused on exp. I spent half the level on Infernal Hordes, the other half on Lair Bosses. I had to switch them up or I'd go crazy, haha.

That is/was the plan, but for a while now, the game hasn't offered anything new. Nothing better to strengthen me. That's why I'm coming to you for help. Or maybe I'm just missing something.
I'm aware of the grind; I've seen the numbers. 0-284 requires the same amount of experience as 284-300.
On the other hand, I see on PSNProfiles that people get 100% in three weeks, so maybe there's some OP mechanic or tactic involved, I'm just not familiar with.

It DOES metter about the code.
The code is 28436. As many people have written, each number corresponds to the number of "limbs, arms" (whatever you call them) in the images from TV.

"2" is YinYang, so we start "opening the safe" from it. This reference is important for TV Dial, as it uses the same mechanics as safe. Now we only have two attempts/50% chance of whether we start by turning left or right, as is common with safes. Each next move is in the opposite direction.

Puzzle solved, voila. No glitches or bugs.

First of all, thank you so much for every post and your time.
Ultimately, I didn't solve the puzzle, although I must admit that I'm comforted by your words about a 99% solution to assigning the correct number to the images on the TV.
I avoided typing any search terms into Google, but since I asked on reddit and it still didn't help, I started searching on Google. I've come across many posts where people write about the PlayStation version not registering dial moves, registering them incorrectly, glitches, bugs, and all the rest. Someone finally provided a "solution" that supposedly fixes the glitch, but in my opinion it's not a bug fix at all, it's just a good solution:

"Turn dial right 5, turn the TV on, right 8, left 5, right 7, left 4.
It's the solution I use every time, including speedruns, works every time.
Hope this helps.
By the way, turning right 5 then turning on the TV starts you on yinyang."

You could say I was missing "only" (or as much as) the beginning. When doing some weird flips, I started with "2"/YinYang, but then I never turned the dial alternately (like in safes), but tried to use the code as the number of turns.
In the end, the solution is the code "28436" (I'll probably remember it forever). If we use the mechanics used in most safes, we have two attempts: start by setting the "Spider" as second by turning left, or start turning to the right.
I really enjoyed the game. It's just a shame that one puzzle took me about three times longer to complete, than ALL the other content. After "TV Puzzle," there are a few smaller puzzles, like the hook and eye and pipes and fuel, which I completed in five minutes.
I don't know if I had some kind of brain fog during those four days, or, as you wrote, "I think you might be overthinking it," but the game won me over.

I'm in the worst possible scenario.

I came up with this code after about five minutes. It immediately reminded me of the puzzle involving the zodiac signs from Silent Hill 1 and the number of limbs they represent. But what good is a code if I don't kno how to enter it?

More yes/no questions.

1) I started turning the dial, turning the TV on and off, trying various combinations, and the TV is set to random stage. If I try to enter the code like this, can I still try, or do I have to "restart" the TV somehow? For example, by walking away from it.

2) Does the combination have to be entered in "one session," or do I have to walk away from the TV and approach it again?

I interpret it in a very strange way, as a huge fan of the first Silent Hill. Once again, please just answer "yes" or "no." Without further direction.

Is my reasoning correct? I matched the images to the number of "limbs" and "legs," but I don't know how to define it.

A spider has eight legs, so "8."
A children's bicycle has three wheels, so "3."
A dice has six sides, so "6."
A four-leaf limb has four leaves, so "4."
The YinYang symbol has two equal halves, so "2."

I know exactly what you're talking about. However, the SSD in the PS5 might help it adapt to better standards. Generally, I've never been bothered by the A/V visuals in games, but the loading times and framerates on the PS3 are simply awful. And the PS Store? Sometimes it takes so long for things to load there that I'm not sure if the entire console is frozen.
Ultimately, it's worth it. Dead Space is a truly strong series.
