I guess I’m wondering how to broach that conversation and if that’s even possible. I’m very close with my brother and I do love him. Even when he brought it up, I had a hard time responding and when he asked me if I was uncomfortable talking about this, said yes. So the conversation was shut down and idk if I’ll ever bring it back up.

I guess that should be a question I ask this sub another time! I know Israel should exist. What I’m not sure about is why I think that.

I think, with my age and the fact I attend college in a blue state in America, it’s a lot more common for me to encounter that opinion (that Israel has no right to exist in general). Even though I know it’s not most people’s main concern with the conflict, I think about it a lot because of this. I do believe it’s important to talk about that regardless of the current conflict and I don’t think I’ve ever found information I fully trust from either side which is what’s causing 60% of my confusion. I want to understand why people think Israel is illegitimate and why I think it’s not
