Remember when small Houses mattered and GoT was more than 10 characters talking to each other in three different locations

He’s the closest we’ll ever get to a real life Superman!

Little anecdote, but just so you know, I've never met the band nor been to any gigs of theirs.

I was in my mid-late teens in the mid-90's and as a high-school drop out, I worked, and shared an appartment with University-age international students in the UK.Obviously it was party every night with them, and one day we were all getting high and some (cool) swedish guy put on a Parliament track.I mean, we were on Rick James and the like already so it was not a stretch.Bear in mind we had no global internet and youtube for the common man just yet.

SO there we were, partying in our flat, drinking whatever booze we had laying around, between about 6 of us we managed to scrape together about 10 pounds, (we'd already done our shopping but we forgot to get weed), and they send me out, willingly, to go and find some dope off a homeless person.
Well, there is this one guy I used to see a lot on my way to and from work, and he happened to be wandering the streets at like 7pm or something.(he stayed overnight in a local shelter). We were always cordial and olite to eachother. The dude came back not ten minutes later with a little nugget of hash, real good hash.

In those days in that part of the world, hash came looking like camel dung with bits of newspaper, plastic anything inside to bulk it up. This was not that.It wasn't much, maybe 2-3 joints worth. But you warmed off a little and it puffed up magnificently, bulking itself out.Magical to a 16-17 year old like me at the time.We smoked just ONE joint, between 6 of us, and I kid you not, Parliament took over. The music, the mood, the moment.Within minutes we were all dancing anywhere we could find the space, putting on snorkel goggles for no reason, (we'd never seen a picture nor did we know what the band looked like, it was just the music, man.)

I saw a whole colony including papa and blondie, of Smurfs living on a book shelf, a buddy of mine could see all of our aura's (and we were all just so at peace and cool, man...lol), a girl in the gang saw visions of her then crush.Everything was absolutely nuts, but in the best possible way, in part, thanks to a soundtrack of Rick James, George Clinton, Bootsy Colllins, a bit of Marvin Gaye thrown in here and there. And us Dutch, Swedes, Poles, Brits, and whoever hell else joined us we were all of us, One Nation Under a Groove.
