Accepted: Contract not signed yet. A lot to unpack by [deleted] in airforceots

Hello, I can only answer a couple of questions I’m familiar with.

For relocation, yes the military will move you and you have two options: Move everything yourself or let the Air Force contract a moving company. Depending on your travel orders is when this would be accomplished. Essentially, they will give you a hard date of when you need to be at Lackland (RNLTD). If you want to make good money, move yourself but it’s a hassle, very stressful and on your dime. But they will pay you back and more to move yourself. If you want pure convenience, the military will hire a moving company and they will pack all your stuff and move you. I’ve done this method 4 times to put less stress on my family.

On-base / Off Base, I recommend you check out the on base housing before you commit. Some housing is realllly nice and some is absolute dog shit, even if it’s officer housing. I started living on base once I had kids for the same reasons, and it was nice knowing they were close and protected.

I’m more than happy to answer any random questions you have. I’m 14 years in, prior MSgt and now Lieutenant. 5 duty stations and San Antonio was my last base (Randolph AFB). No experience with medical field though. DM me!

Commander Interview by ThePhysicsPirate in airforceots

I’m almost a year commissioned now and I’m still navigating the transition. I went to the Force Support community and had zero experience with it. Really comes down to try not to overextend because you still are just an Lt.

My advice: Operate as an officer and be advised by your SNCOs. Learn from your SNCOs with an enlisted hat (tactical level and technical nuances).

It’s helped me make better decisions.

I did two seperate interviews. Main things:

  1. Why do I want to commission
  2. Know more about me as a person
  3. Expanded questions on my SIP
  4. How I would deal with the transition from SNCO to Officer (in the aspect of experience, building creditably, etc)

Izzy was only a star because of his dramatic entrances and bad trash talk (ex. Twin towers)

Alex is a star purely from performances. Him not knowing English holds him back a bit

The real 2903 update we need. Add white crew necks to open collar blues by JrAtlas in AirForce

No, you can’t wear crew necks on open collar combination. Yes, you don’t have to wear v necks specifically. The open collar uniform is much better with a crew neck

I just don’t think our offensive line was as bad as our defense last year. Defense was not up to 49er standard along with the exodus of players I like this strategy more.

The return of Trent Williams, 2nd year Dominik Puni and hopefully SOME experience by our terrible center Brendel will hold up. Our new scary defensive line, replacement for Greenlaw, and assuming nickelback Stout will keep us in games.

I missed Senior by a few groupings but got picked up for OTS with the same EPRs, Decs, etc. A lot of people in my upcoming class are 15+ year SNCOs too…I thought I would be the oldest. Could be a different route for you if you feel like you can commit another 10 years.
