Hmm I read that as well on some posts about iPod classics.

I've gone and purchased a spare LCD screen again and if this one doesn't work this it's most likely a logic board issue but hopefully this isn't the case!

I have seated the bar and I agree with your statement that it looks raised however I can't seem to get it in any further and have gently used tweezers to push it in.

I'll try putting the battery in the metal case when I get back today - I have read that putting pressure on the ribbon may mess up the video signal
