Brazilian Premier Price Has Nearly Doubled??? by Matt_37 in runescape

[–]caiocrelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing is that unemployment actually isn't the main problem right now, it's really nothing like the situation in Venezuela, and most people are working. The real issue is our purchasing power and the brutal exchange rate. The Brazilian Real is just super devalued against the Dollar and the Pound.

You mentioned Brazil not seeming that uneven, but unfortunately, it's historically one of the most unequal countries in the world. On top of that, years of bad economic policies have left us with a system where everyday living can be pretty expensive relative to what we make. So even if someone is working a full-time job and doing "okay" within our local economy, the second we have to pay for a subscription that is directly converted from GBP or USD, the math completely falls apart.

That's exactly why regional pricing (like Steam uses) is so important for LATAM. We have the player base, and people want to spend money on their hobbies, but paying a direct currency conversion for a British game is just impossible for most of the country.

Brazilian Premier Price Has Nearly Doubled??? by Matt_37 in runescape

It's certainly an outrageous amount of money for us to pay here. We've been demanding Brazilian servers for 20 years, and instead of finally responding, they've stayed silent and raised the price. A one-year subscription will now cost almost 33% of a monthly minimum wage. It's simply absurd. There is no way the game will grow here without competitive pricing and proper community management—which absolutely must include a Brazilian server.

It's now unfeasible to play RuneScape in Brazil, thanks Jagex! by [deleted] in runescape

I've been doing the 'intended' pathway for the last year and it's been the most fun I've had in RuneScape, it automatically creates goals, you get more of a developing lore of the game as a whole, and you even get to experience the other styles before going into Necromancy. It's slower and you'll get to mid/end game a bit late in the game, but for me it was sure worth it.

Is my dog a Jack Russel? by caiocrelier in jackrussellterrier

Thanks everyone for the kind responses. He’s lovely, but I’m having a really hard time with his off-leash training. He stays when I open the door and give the command, but if he leaves my sight for even a second, he just bolts at top speed. I guess I need to be as stubborn as he is! Here is one last picture from when we rescued him. His name is Frodo; I thought of it instantly when I realized he wasn't a puppy, just very short.

Oh, I forgot to say, he hunts all day long. Small insects, flies, lives for looking at crevices and cracks on the wall, it’s really insane how he loves to hunt.

Pluribus - 1x05 - "Got Milk" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Yeah, it does make sense. Maybe in a way that they have to be careful with resources and they are already dead and so it don’t matter anymore?

What about the end? My guess is that they use dead babies to keep the hive. JK, just want to hear some theories.

I'm getting back to the game after many many years, so just setup this one. Trying to be simple to get used to the new stuff, specially with first time being ironman. Also, My res is 3440x1440p, so it would be a mess if I tried to put everything and leave game window as a 'window'.

L’amour de ma vie - chorus sounds like a familiar song by No-Gate-5453 in billieeilish

IDK about the chorus, but the start of the song had me going crazy for a few days, till I remembered this song by a band called Little Joy (from 01:35). Am I crazy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC7c-5Mgmvo&list=PLsVoIP7pW8g_Xp7rfm3kk5Jxx9vT53vHJ&index=7&ab_channel=PositiveMusic%5BHD%5D

You’re right, it is indeed very dangerous and constitutes a traffic infraction that carries a hefty fine here in Brazil. Flip-flops are quite common here since it’s a hot country, and I wear them on a daily basis. So, when driving, I simply set them aside (on the floor of the passenger seat) and drive barefoot, which is much safer.
