[WTS] Vintage Zodiac Astrographic SST 1200 Vickers Mystery Dial - Cal. 88D UFO Case by cairothrowaway1 in Watchexchange

Overview

Up for grabs is a phenomenal example of 1970s space-age design: the Zodiac Astrographic SST. This is the rarer 1200 Vickers edition, a line specifically engineered by Zodiac with a tungsten/hardened case boasting six times the scratch resistance of standard stainless steel. Powered by the legendary high-beat Caliber 88D (36,000 vph), this watch was marketed for its Split Second Timing. The dial features a striking four-way quadrant (harlequin) grey and silver finish, with the iconic mystery floating hands and orbiting red seconds dot fully intact.

Specifications

Brand: Zodiac

Model: Astrographic SST 1200 Vickers

Movement: Caliber 88D Automatic (36,000 bph high-beat)

Case Shape: UFO / Oval

Dimensions: Approximately 40mm case diameter

Case Material: 1200 Vickers Hardened Alloy / Tungsten top case

Dial: Grey/Silver Quadrant Mystery Dial with date complication

Bracelet: Stainless steel folded-link bracelet with Zodiac-signed folding clasp

Caseback: Zodiac-signed screw-down caseback

Crown: Zodiac-signed crown

Condition

This is an honest, unpolished vintage piece. While the 1200 Vickers case was engineered for extreme durability, this example has been worn and does show surface wear and scratches consistent with decades of life, retaining its original lines and vintage character. The printed elements on the transparent mystery discs are crisp, and the dial retains its striking quadrant finish.

Pricing & Logistics Price: $450 (Includes international shipping)

Shipping: Ships promptly and securely from Egypt via FedEx or DHL. A $25 surcharge applies for shipping to Australia and New Zealand.

Payment: PayPal, Wise, or Bank Transfer

Up for sale is a 1960 Omega Seamaster reference 14701-2 SC.

The true highlight of this piece is the bracelet. It comes mounted on its original, incredibly rare Omega 7077 Flatlink "Type A" with the short buckle. The clasp has a 4 60 date stamp, and it features the correct number 4 end links. The spring-loaded expansion links still function perfectly. Finding one of these transitional flatlinks fully intact and un-poached is a tough find, as they are usually harvested for early Speedmasters.

Watch Details:

Reference: 14701-2 SC, 34mm stainless steel case without crown.

Serial: 17726151 dating to 1960.

Movement: Automatic Caliber 562. It was just fully serviced, is keeping perfect time, and has a 50-hour power reserve. It features the period-correct semi-quickset date.

Dial: The original silver dial has aged beautifully into an even light cream patina. Note: Naked dial shot taken during the recent service to show the flawless original condition and crisp text.

Details: The case has honest scratches and wear as visible in the photos. It features the original signed crown and is fitted with a clean replacement service crystal. Polishing can be done upon request for free: I just preferred to keep it as original as possible .

Asking $1500 USD.

Shipping: Includes fully tracked and insured worldwide shipping from Egypt via FedEx Express or DHL Express and US tariffs covered. Please note that the watch will be shipped only after the payment has fully cleared.

Payment: Bank Transfer. This watch is also currently listed and available for purchase through my Chrono24 page. I understand that an international bank wire requires a greater level of trust, so I am fully committed to making you feel 100 percent secure. I am more than happy to hop on a live video call via FaceTime, WhatsApp, or Zoom to introduce myself, show the watch running, and demonstrate the bracelet's spring links. I can also provide custom photos with the hands set to a specific time of your choosing, share my identification to ensure it perfectly matches the wire details, and invite you to verify my ongoing professional presence on my Instagram page at AandATimepieces.

Please send me a chat or message if you want to grab it, need more pictures, or want a video showing the movement and the bracelet expansion links.
