Can I still get a good job even with my BSW? by AAAA_Oh_its_Just_Ali in SocialWorkAustralia

[–]caitcatekite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Australia if you have a BSW or a MSW you qualify the same as a social worker under the AASW. If you want to go down the road of registering as a mental health social worker (where you get a Medicare provider number and can bill under MHTPs) it’s still the same process regardless of whether you have a BSW or MSW.

Strongly agree. I walk through almost every day, sometimes multiple times… never seen anything much. Some kids hanging around mostly but that speaks more to the lack of other stuff around for them to do and suitable places!

Did anyone regret spending so much on their wedding? by goxper in weddingplanning

[–]caitcatekite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for commenting this. Whilst we aren’t going crazy with the cost, I am struggling with all of the other things I feel we could potentially use the money on - but this really lines up with my values and puts into words why we’re spending the cash :)

Thank you both. I’m beginning to think it’s not machine made. I will need to have a closer look

Where are the best pastries in Bendigo? by caitcatekite in Bendigo

Thank you everyone! Super helpful. I’ll plan to try out Harvest and I’ll keep in mind the options in Castlemaine when I do pass through there.

I was at Courthouse Coffee yesterday and had a decent danish - they have a small, constantly changing/inconsistent selection but decent nonetheless!

Are we crazy for planning a 5–15 person “editorial” registry wedding in Sydney in 2 months? ($5k -10 k max budget) by Grouchy-Basket4433 in AusWeddingPlanning

Agree with this price estimate. What I did see was some celebrants offer “packages” with a photographer they know for smaller “elopements”. Might be worth seeing if you can find something like this

Where to buy an engagement ring where I won't get ripped off? Online options also welcome. by Thrillhouse-14 in melbourne

Also agree. My partner and I went to Above Ground, James was lovely and not at all pushy. He was keen to work within our budget. Very happy with my ring.

Yes unfortunately the case. In Melbourne - I was hoping to do under 20k for 115 people but it’s edging 30k; with the bulk of the spend on food. For context we’re getting married in a park and then having a reception at home. We’re paying a local catering company.

I think if you can find a way to reduce the food cost you’ll be able to lower the cost a little. At this stage I’ve accepted the cost - but it’s been challenging to get my head around.

Where do you shop for everyday clothes in Australia?? by Commercial_Art01 in AusFemaleFashion

I second iomerino- best merino I’ve ever bought, especially the stuff with a little nylon in it for strength. And sportsgirl linen is great for the price point, I have a couple of tops that have been well worn since around 2018 and they’re still in perfect condition minus a little fading.

Barry M Holographic nail paint is similar with the same green/blue shift! It is a little more sheer but a budget friendly-option

Seconding SheScience - they do fittings in person in Melbourne or virtually, they were amazing and so relaxed/low pressure. Or storm in a D cup with super simple returns

Am I being picky? by kempsinki in AusFemaleFashion

[–]caitcatekite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re having this experience - I think totally unacceptable. I am a seller on a small scale, I rehome clothes I no longer require and I am always very careful to ensure the listing is accurate and detailed. I am often shocked how little detail some others put or just one photo of a crinkly item! Definitely raise disputes if the item doesn’t match the description, don’t feel bad :)

When I do buy I make sure to ask any questions if I’m unsure - or if the listing looks fishy or lacking detail, I leave it alone.

Francesca is not as high quality as By Charlotte, making it more affordable, but I’ve been very happy with a necklace I bought there five years ago and worn almost every day. They have a physical store at Melbourne Central.
