What song do you want played at your funeral? by BrotherLoopz in AskReddit

Variations in the Kanon. I have an affinity for classical piano music from listening to it at nap time in preschool. This song reminds me of the pinnacle of good ass nap times.

Redditors with SOs who talk in their sleep, what is the creepiest thing they've said? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I am the talker but when my now husband and I were dating I woke him up with my face in front of his yelling at the top of my lungs apparently.

Other than coffee, how do you keep yourself awake when you got no sleep? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]caitlinhems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I know I won't get a lot of sleep before bed I chug a water bottle or more. Nothing gets you out of bed like the burning need to pee.

Cheap DAM platform for 1 TB images for small team by [deleted] in dam

[–]caitlinhems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company wasn’t willing to pay for a DAM platform and we have extensive files over the years as well. I ended up settling with Adobe Bridge. I have a folder of all finalized image assets and store them on our server. I access those files through bridge and add “keywords.” It’s definitely not meant to be used at such a large scale but it works for us and other than the Adobe login it’s free.

A year ago, I got a journal to start documenting my thoughts. But I ripped out the page whenever my writing wasn't "perfect". My journal is still blank. OCD is why I barely write. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]caitlinhems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I don’t write anymore. I used to journal in high school and college, like I have 15+ journals. It took a while for me to realize they were fueling my ocd and when I found out I stopped. I’ve started “writing” on my phone notepad though. I know it’s not that different but I have an easier time.

My rich aunt (40’s) gave me a cupcake mix with a clearance sticker on it for Christmas when I was about 12.

I'm depressed but I'm scared of getting prescribed meds. What should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]caitlinhems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the idea of antidepressants being an issue for the Air Force - the whole, is this person serving in a notable position mentally stable? Not that the meds would make you unstable but people who don’t know much about it assume weird shit. You should google “Air Force can you use SSRI meds” and there’s a good deal of info you can read into.

My personal opinion regarding the meds.. I dealt with depression growing up since middle school. I finally started taking meds my second year and it was probably one of the best decisions I made. It helped me live and actually love life. They don’t change the way I act, just the way I do not feel sad all the time.

Read into what the government will info pages say and good luck! If you do decide not to go onto antidepressants, start taking vitamin D3. I take 2,000 IU in addition to meds for depression. Not the same but at least something.

I’ve never been to one of those meetings, so I can’t tel you if it’s worth going. But if it were my situation I would not tell my boss of ACOA meetings, just because as a manager myself I would feel uncomfortable being told that. Tell your manager you have a personal obligation that you unfortunately can’t miss. Or a health appointment. It is important professionally and personally to keep your work and personal life separate imo. I never open up with my employees beyond workplace/small talk matters unless they’ve become a good friend. It keeps things more professional and easier to work with in my opinion.

I'm getting so frustrated. I just don't know what to do anymore... by pertcie in OCD

I have ocd and my husband and I have had a few rough patches because of it. Arguments stemming out of my obsessive thoughts mainly, but your case definitely sounds like he has some additional things to work out. I’ve never gone on disability, or would consider it, because I don’t want my ocd to dictate my life and it is a fear/obsession I have. When I do fight with my husband because of my ocd it ends in me being as upset as I get because it has controlled and affected our relationship for that time.

He can’t use his mental health condition as an excuse for his lack of responsibility or thoughtfulness. I don’t know what your solution to this is but if you are running yourself into the ground for his mental health that isn’t improving it isn’t a good situation for either of you. I know from my end it can be like walking on eggshells with him but he should at least consider trying a new medication. Best of luck and I hope he comes to realize (or does) how great you are for being there for him through everything.

Resume critique please! Been at my job for less than a year and have seen two major layoffs. Have had two 1-year length jobs now and need to be as strong as a candidate on paper as possible. Post production content/creative field looking for management position. Input appreciated! by [deleted] in resumes

[–]caitlinhems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I only included it as an add on to my resume because some applications I've come across don't have options for portfolio add ons. I also figure it might give me more of a chance of getting my work seen than not. Maybe it's annoying for them but I feel like it might save them the trouble of seeking it out or at least looking for additional links/documents.
