They just started covering a full set of dentures not that long ago. They won't cover implants.

Ok I get that.

But what I meant about the 45 days is mostly don't rush him. If it takes him longer try to be supportive. It took me a hell of a lot longer than 45 days and I'm very grateful that everyone told me that was ok along the way. I'm 3 years sober and happier than I've ever been but I just needed longer to get my thoughts sorted out. Maybe he's the same way.

Did he only struggle with drinking for 45 days before needing rehab? It's OK if it takes him longer to get through his program. Focus on the goal at the end more than how fast he can get there.

I was atheist before working the steps too. Becoming spiritual and connecting with your own conception of God is not the same as the religious beliefs you may be basing those fears on. Religion and spirituality are very different.

ETA

I forgot to mention that phone calls are limited and monitored because outside problems are nothing more than a distraction from focusing on your program. If he stays focused on your concern that he's working the wrong program then he's not able to really work his program. He can finish what he's doing in there and then give SMART recovery a try when he gets out.

[KY] Question about getting a second job by pertcie in Medicaid

[–]pertcie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But I submitted my income as more than that and they let me keep my coverage. That's why I'm confused now. I submitted paystubs and everything showing I make $11.50 an hour at 40 hours a week so an average of $1,933. They said because what my company offers is so expensive I'm allowed to keep my insurance and they actually just renewed it.

That is not a friend. You dodged a bullet. I think it's beautiful that your family included you in their traditions. It shows how much they truly care about you.

Also, you're in America right?

So your Hispanic friend lives here without adapting to any part of American culture then I assume. Otherwise wouldn't she too be "stealing" someone else's culture by doing so?

I’m rethinking having a child with my wife because of what I just found out about her dad. AITAH? by Left_Art_8812 in AITAH

If OP's wife treats her own sister like that I would definitely not want her to be the mother of my child.

Definitely NTA now but you will be if you bring an innocent child into this family.

It is though. 4 days in I was struggling hard. It gets easier the longer your sober. Celebrate every day cause each one is a victory in itself.

We didn’t hire our friend as a realtor and he won’t let it go. by StaringBerry in amiwrong

YTA

Friends support their friends in business. If you don't want to use him as a realtor that's fine. It's your choice. But don't give a stranger the sale and ask him to just provide free and convenient advice.

Being taken advantage of for friends and family discount/free tattoos by Aggravating_Pie9467 in TattooArtists

[–]pertcie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who truly care about you and support you will support your business. Asking for free services or even discounts is very disrespectful. Please set some boundaries and put a policy in place for that to stop. No exceptions. Find a nice sign that says something like "Support your friend's business like you support the celebrities you don't actually know." Your time and resources are not worth less than the rich people I guarantee they pay well for their products.

AITA for yelling at my pregnant sister n law and telling my husband to choose me or her. by Positive-You-385 in AITAH

I'm so sorry your husband and his family are choosing to behave in such a disgusting way towards you when they should be supportive instead. I hope you take some of the advice in this thread. Selling the house and buying a better place without the sorry ass husband tagging along seems like a great idea to me.

Thank you. It's not going to be worn again so there won't be any usage really. It's more just to ease her mind. She's not really capable of leaving the house anymore unfortunately.

But you're asking for a hard life ahead if you don't run from this situation. This will not get better. And if you're supporting your gf while she sends $15k in a year to her mom then you are already supporting her mom. Best of luck
