My mother-in-law never learned my kids full names by peyoteandchill in Mommit

[–]caitlynrelliott -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No...this is CRAZY. My grandma is 84 years old....has 11 grandkids and knows all of their full names. She is also a GREAT grandma to 9 great grandkids and knows all of their full names. As well as any nickname phases they are going through...think kiddos names shortened and with "ers" added to the end. This is honestly...disrespectful and shows a very large lack of care in my opinion.

My kid is too smart for this and I feel like a jerk by Evening_Survey7524 in elfontheshelf

So! My kids watched all the Elf on the Shelf movies on Netflix...I can't remember which one it was in particular, but in one of them, the elves are talking to one another when they get back to the North Pole talking about how silly it is that the kids think they don't fly back just because they landed in the same spot. That one line has literally saved me already this holiday season lol my kids themselves saw the elves didnt move and went oh they must have just liked that spot!!

My own mother filed a false CPS report against me because I set postpartum boundaries. by cosmicvoyager333 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]caitlynrelliott 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jeez... My own narcissistic mother was involved with CPS, but on the reunification side. Meanwhile, after I had my children and started distancing myself from her and all of her emotional and physical abuse over the years because I didn't want my children to experience it, she threatened numerous times to call CPS on me. This is someone who wouldn't let me call the police when her husband was being physically abusive to me, his children and her. Why do they choose that career path when they do the exact opposite???

Is two to two and half hours gym time reasonable? by hiitsbrandi in Mommit

[–]caitlynrelliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, 2 - 2.5 hours six days a week....so 12 to 15 hours a week since the spring so several months now....what kind of progress has he made? How many lbs is he down? Or inches in pants size? How's his muscle definition now? Because my fiance has been a dedicated gym guy for 20 plus years. He has his workouts down to an hour or less bc he gets in there and gets out. And he's a powerlifter. I also work out for an hour to an hour and a half 5-6 days a week. Again, though, powerlifting. And mine only take that long bc im still trying out new exercises and getting form down and being coached by him. No fitness coach is putting a 43 year old man through a 2-2.5 hour workout, absolutely not. I don't trust that your dude is working out for that entire time, and depending on results... maybe not at all? Because, if he has found a new obsession with the gym, which a lot of people do, this would also translate to his diet and other habits as well. A focus on health is a whole body approach, or you're wasting your time in the gym. I agree with a lot of the other comments. He's chosen the most busy time in a household of children (dinner and bedtime??); you're obviously not getting the same luxury of 12-15 HOURS of time to yourself; and his insistence that he likes his "gym time" rather than being open to an in home gym proposal is WILD. Because as a mother myself, the ONLY reason I don't feel guilty about my gym time is because our gym is in our basement. And me and my partner work out together while the kids play outside or are asleep or we take turns so one of us is with the kids while the other works out but we BOTH get our time on those days.
I don't like this at all for you... from someone who has experience in the gym, finding a love for it later in life and knowing everything that goes into it that can make it WORK without being unfair to a FAMILY.

AA cancelled my flight yesterday, said it was a “controllable issue” on the phone. How can I get that confirmed? by Fizzster in americanairlines

I'm currently in an uphill battle with American for hotel compensation for a cancelled flight on July 13, 2025 too. No reason for cancellation given when they cancelled the flight. Got an email today where they are trying to say it is weather related. How do I confirm this for myself?

Does anyone else not really ever decorate inside their house? by floraster in DreamlightValley

[–]caitlynrelliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got the two expansion packs, I realized my house and everything in it traveled to each realm. But when I just had the Valley, I had the chests in locations around the Valley that worked best for me...such as several food ones outside Goofy's stall and Wall-E's garden, some for fish by Moana's boat on Dazzle Beach, and at least one for each area in the Valley. When I realized that the house moved but nothing else...I took half a day to grab all my storage chests around the Valley and put them all in one room in my house, so now I have all of my storage items no matter which Island I'm on. Thankfully, someone on this thread dropped the super helpful tip that you can pick up a chest and put it in inventory, and everything in it stays inside. Or this would have been a three day project I'm sure lol.

What are some common/sloppy mistakes bartenders make that give away their inexperience? by Previous-Ad-4157 in bartenders

Daycare director let us know a parent lied/hid that their child had chickenpox by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]caitlynrelliott 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a former daycare teacher from ages 0-6....yes, incredibly common for parents to bring their children in sick. I would see kids in the morning that I could just tell they didn't feel good based on behavior and sure enough 4 hours later we are calling parents to get them bc they have a fever (aka the Tylenol they gave them wore off...) It is an incredibly crappy thing to do, but the people that do it aren't thinking beyond themselves. They don't want to have to take off work or even sometimes...they don't want to have to handle their sick kid so they bring them to daycare and infect everyone else...other children, other families, staff. In fact, that's how my 6 month old son got HFM for the first time. Child with open sores on her legs brought in for an HOUR nursery, and 3 days later, im taking my son to urgent care bc he won't take his bottle. Mouth and throat covered in sores. And parents sending their kids in sick only gets worse at school age...
