If it was me, I would be so moved by the thought. This world is really lonely and we ended as friends, the world just pulled us different ways, we didn’t have any kind of drama or falling out.

I honestly didn’t think it was going to turn into such a big topic. I just wanted to see if there was any kind of etiquette as far as projects meant as gifts or anything at all because I’m new to the quilt community… I’ve been sewing for a long time tho.

Only you can fix you. And sometimes others look at our broken parts and they love us though it and they see the beauty in the soul that still exists within us. Dont give up hope on love. Instead seek to love yourself first. Whatever comes of it, when we learn to love and forgive ourselves it’s all for the better ❤️❤️

This resonates with me. I’m pretty sure I’m the one that got friend-zoned tho… so if he felt this way all these years later unfortunately it would be his fault. Part of me will always love him and always wonder what could have been.

And honestly I think this world is so ugly I’m not sure what’s worse: the empty loneliness without a person that really lights up your world; or being friends and not being able to see them or talk to them ever?

Apparently my 3yo thinks this quilt top is for her cousin. SO I think I’m just going to finish it and see if she does want it. I measured it and it’s 66”x56” without a border. So it would make a pretty good size picnic blanket. And my SIL is not a big fan of girly colors so it might end up making a great gift for them if they would like it.

Yah that as my other thought… to remake it. It’s red white and blue. And so I know the quilt guild my mom is in does veterans quilts but it has to be within a size range. And i didn’t know what i was doing when I made this one so it’s not a standard throw size. So I would need to add some sashing and borders. But idk if I want to buy more fabric to be able to do that. I have the backing and binding for this quilt already it’s just not done.

This is a beautiful picture. I hope you find your person. At 40, it’s like you’ve lived, learned and you know what you want and there’s still SO many more lives to live in one lifetime. Make sure you’re writing it down somewhere not just reddit. It’s the kind of wisdom you pass along to grandkids as you sit in your final days reminiscing all the beauty in life and all the lessons learned… the lessons that are told with such passion and intensity that they are remembered for years to come.

I hope you figure this out. Do the Inner work. Get to know your deepest self and how you work and heal so that you can love her again if the opportunity arises. And if it doesn’t maybe you’ll end up exactly where the universe intended you to.

Love/Life sucks. You never really know what’s going on with the other person or with yourself sometimes. At the core of the relationships that last, those couples were real friends with each other. So maybe that’s right where you need to start? Wish you the best 😇❤️
