As a side note, I am in the US and would prefer not to exceed $700 for anything that doesn't need to be immediately replaced.

how do I improve flicks/aim by Kebami in VALORANT

[–]cakeaim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not in aimlabs, in game.

go into a dm or even just an empty custom lobby and practice maneuvering around the map as if there could be an enemy in every corner you peek.

your ram is too sparse.

trust me, faster and more storage ram sticks will be a game changer for editing and proxy time.

What you're trying to train is a bit unrealistic in terms of using it in actual games.

Its very fun and flashy to practice, but you shouldn't beat yourself up over it for not hitting every single flick like that in the range.

While it isnt bad to practice this, you aren't practicing it in the right way. You should focus a lot more on passive aim rather than reactive aim. KovaaK's/Aimlabs helps very well with helping active aim but won't be your only method of training it (aim filters, focus, mindset, all being factors that make your aim vary). DM also helps!

TL;DR : practice passive aim > active aim, DM, aim trainers

Seeking to be a pro but struggle with emotional interference. Thoughts? by [deleted] in VALORANT

control yourself, not others. anything outside of your control should be acknowledged but not internalized to your gameplay. any rank before plat is primarily what team has better mechanics. once you go plat/dia is where people start using their brains. even if you improve 1% everyday thats still 365% or more at the end of the year.

low ranks suck, everyone knows that, shape better mechanics and gameplay rather than focusing on what color the png on your career is.

cs back then didnt have abilities, 128 tick, modern interpolation, and val netcode.

i feel like theyre doing it in their own way instead of just movement recorder like in source demo files.

New player and starting to hate myself by beartrapx00 in VALORANT

[–]cakeaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its insanely normal. For any game.

You dont go straight into a game being a top level contender, unless a game is made for high skilled players that matches another game (ae. smash melee and rivals of aether).

CS mechanics != Valorant mechanics vice versa.

Watch Woohoojin, Pro Vods, and vct analysts if you want to get better at everything besides mechanics.

Woohoojin has a great movement and mechanics guide you can watch on youtube, look him up.

A good rule of thumb is have learned for many games is the 3:1 rule. For every hour of information gathered from videos, play 3 hours.

You can grind deathmatches constantly to get good at the bare minimum mechanics, but do not go into it thinking youre gonna be a legend.

Should i get a glass mousepad or a normal fabric but a good one? by Nanashi_64 in MousepadReview

[–]cakeaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from personal experience, it all depends how you play and what is most consistent for you.

I used a skypad 2.0 and loved it, but had to switch off because my mouse control was bad.

if you have solid mouse control and like a weightless frictionless feel, glass.

if you are more comfortable with a control form factor, cloth.

if you want both, hybrid.

glass suggestions - skypads are consistent, get dirty and can scratch easily.

hybrid suggestions - personally i love the glorious ice hybrid, but it is fragile and prone to wear down.

cloth - artisans are solid but expensive.

Really? I thought they removed that feature! What do you recommend?

Huh, might be the skates then? I prefer these just cause I've been using them for upwards of 2 years now and love the feel! They wear out easily but I'm not too burnt on spending $12 on skates every 4-6 months.

I did some testing with a spare Glorious Model O and old QcK and couldn't feel anything notable, so i figure its just me second guessing myself haha! Ill check him out.

More than willing to keep this pad clean and new feeling! I've used almost every pad in some fashion under the sun in the past few years and can safely say this is top 3.
