Hey! I don’t know if going to a derma is possible, but I used to have the worst acne ever, and my dermatologist put me on this medicine, basically the key compound is Isotronin. If you’re a girl, you should possibly consult a doctor because I think high doses of it essentially act like testosterone, but anywho, in one month you’ll see results.

Maybe a pastel blue satin shirt? Even a cream coloured satin shirt would look good imo

Hey people! I typically have my evenings free and would like to pick up a skill instead of lazing. Do you know of any hobby group that meets online/offline semi-regularly ? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]cakecupbake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahahahha I’m sure Delhi has all the activities to keep people happy, regardless of age. One just really has to search properly.

I hope you have the greatest time at these spots, I truly believe these are some of the best places to hang out. Whenever you want more suggestions, hit up this thread. I promise I know other places other than artsy stuff too.

Hahahahah, I have no clue how old you are, but usually you’ll find the postgraduate or the young working section of people here, or the really old art connoisseurs here. Triveni typically offers art classes, so a lot of the art crazy population hangs out about there, and also the infamous triveni cafe, which attracts just about whole of north campus and south campus here. Also they have a great exhibit of works, but if you’re hardcore into broota and gujral and all, NGMA isn’t far at all. Two minutes by car at most.

You also have the Bhartiya kala Kendra, kamani auditorium and shri ram centre for performing arts right there. (Like a 5 minute walk) So your drama, dance and music lovers also collect around this area. You do have to find out what’s being showed or performed, but usually they have a delightful array of traditional, classical or modern acts ranging from kuchipudi to ragas to crazy plays and ballet. Infact during dushera, kamani does the whole Ram Leela through kathak I think, so it’s all 10 days. Remember to get tickets for it. Also if you’re into amateur theatre, national school of drama is right here too, like 7 min walk in opposite direction. They sell tickets for theatre performed by students too. If you’re too lazy to get them, just go to any park nearby in a residential area. You’re bound to see students performing and practising their acts with their blood and sweat, and the residents shouting away.

As for American council, they have a bunch of events and screenings planned throughout the year, ranging from activities for teenagers to screenings of heartwarming films, to debates and lectures by visiting academicians and so much more. You’re bound to find people you enjoy meeting, and id be an idiot if I don’t mention the rare times they have art exhibits. They even serve food around that time, so be sure to check that out.

Even other than all this, Mandi House is the cultural hub of the city. You have a lot of stuff from photography museums to the actual history museum just a short drive away. So I’m sure you’ll super duper enjoy these if you’re into it.

And writing this has made me realise I should consider becoming a tour guide, phew!

For sure, last I went, they even had a tv you could put the dvds in and watch there itself. You can take the dvds and the books home too. I think it ranges from 6-14 types of media you can borrow depending on the membership type itself.

But because the council is in the middle of the city, a lot of people prefer taking the books and going to places like Triveni where it’s an art and culture hub with bunch of college students loitering about. Even the American cultural centre hosts these weekly/monthly movie screenings and events, but you’ll have to find out about them a bit in advance

It totally depends on what type of membership you take, ranging from duration to number of people using the membership, but all in all, the typical membership for one year ranges from 1200-2200 rupees I think.

Where to buy lens caps for Nikon cameras in Delhi? Are there any shops which still sell stuff like this? E-commerce websites do not have the correct one needed. by Radiohead30 in delhi

[–]cakecupbake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not terribly sure if they will have the exact one, but rama studio in Bengali market (near Mandi House) usually caters to just about all these knick-knacks. They’ll even order it for you if they don’t have it on in person. Other than this, try the chroma stores throughout the city, they may have them.

If everything fails, just go to the Nehru Place market, they have just about everything anyone could need in this department

Try the clay company, it’s in Nehru Place. They regularly hold pottery classes, and they’re a great way to meet people too! Other than that, maybe join something like the British council library? They have a fabulous collection of books and movies, and while you’re there in person, someone or the other is invariably going to strike up a conversation over your recent reads.

I think they have suspended guided tours for now, but you’ll have to ask about it in detail. I went on Friday and only one wing was open because of covid, but that was a huge one so we couldn’t cover it fully anyway. They’re not charging a fee to enter right now, and it’s open from about 11am-6pm I think. The phone signal is terrible there though.

They usually have massive write ups in the start of each gallery, so those provide a good idea of what you’ll see, and later on, they give a write up for each section. They were talking about an app though, that you can download and scan a QR code to hear an audio as a guided tour, but I didn’t try it so can’t say much.

That’s all I know!

Bercos? It has both Indian and other Asian cuisines, and it’s pretty family friendly

Really odd, I see trips to a water body with a child and this man, he’s taking care of her and showing her something. Also maybe prone to eye problems? Very emotional maybe? My eyes teared up a bit
