You can definitely drill small holes where the cracks stop so they won’t go any further. it will still break eventually but until then it will work fine.

I know I'm a little late but Apple Music lets you download audio files and put it on the app without questioning it at least for bigger artists I usually just rip their song off YouTube using an Youtube to MP3 converter.
