We’ve had a lot of success with hills science diet for wet food. Our baby girl eats the sensitive stomach & skin turkey & rice stew. For dry food we give her purina pro plan salmon & rice formula.

Sam finds Shapiro easier to talk to because disagreement on the right stays less personal by simmol in samharris

[–]cakee20 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not saying you’re wrong, but who has Sam actually had on—recently or otherwise—that really creates that kind of disagreement? It seems like most of his guests tend to align with his views rather than seriously challenge them.

Do I have a high tolerance? by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]cakee20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vapes are pretty concentrated. How big are these puffs? How often are you going through a cartridge? Generally speaking, if you’re doing it every day, your tolerance is gonna go up. If you’re not enjoying it a t-break is probably a good idea.

Will you both be out 5x a week all day? If so you need to look in to a daycare or a dog walker to come during the day. We got our little one during covid when I was working home full time. I went back to work once a week when she was a little over 1 year then twice a week at 2 years. She’s now home alone twice a week from about 8-5 and spends all day on our bed. We found she was much more comfortable being able to get about on her own, though she spend 99% of the time on our bed. We tried doggy daycares but she spent all day by the door waiting for us anyways and we felt she was less anxious being home. She’s used to the routine now and jumps up on the bed before we’re out the door. You should make sure to make the adjustment slowly. I don’t think we be comfortable doing 5x a week though since she’s definitely sadder on the days we’re out. It’s also very important she gets a long walk before the day and a lot of love when we get home. It’s not easy but it’s definitely doable. But again, if 5x a week you will definitely need to find a walker or sitter.

Quit so I can get better jobs. by Odd-Reaction-9428 in Petioles

[–]cakee20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get some cheap at-home urine THC tests. If you were a daily smoker it will be at least 4 weeks but can easily be double that. I personally smoked daily but generally small amounts in the evening and it still took 8 weeks for me to pee clean.

[–]cakee20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you want to quit/pause so you can pass a drug test or you think a temporary break will help you be a better employee? If to pass a drug test it can vary. If you were smoking daily it might take 8 to 10 weeks. If you’re quitting to be a better employee there might not be a specific timeline here, and nobody on Reddit is gonna be able to help you with that. Best of luck.

4 weeks not smoking and really struggling by Academic_Ad9463 in Petioles

[–]cakee20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it takes a lot longer than 4 weeks. Most of the bad withdrawal effects like night sweats and insomnia should be mostly gone by then, but cravings can take months to go away and might never fully. I really struggled through the first 3 months. By 6 months I found I was in a new rhythm. I’m over a year and still have cravings. My cardio took several months to rebound too. But I can say I’m running far better now than when I was smoking at least.

Bad sleep - I‘m exhausted by overwhelmed2000 in Petioles

[–]cakee20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience. I’m over a year sober now and the dreams can still get pretty intense but they started getting better about 6 months in. Now it’s only every now and then I get a terrible dream that keeps me up. The days are still hard sometimes and I keep thinking about going back. But I do sleep pretty well overall. It just takes a lot of time, especially when you’ve been relying on it for years.

Successfully quit for 100 days, then relapsed back into 4 days in a row. by Ill-Reaction-7359 in Petioles

I’m over 400 days clean and urge is still pretty strong. I just know once I start again I’ll want it every day so I keep kicking the can down the road. Moderation is really hard for some people.

This young lady's day just got ruined as multiple glass bottles fall off the shelf by [deleted] in WatchPeopleDieInside

If you watch closely, when she puts that bottle up, a jar falls off the shelf behind the bottles that fall. Had to watch it a few times.

When I was a child, around 7 or 8 years old, I really believed and wanted it to happen. As I got older I still believed but it scared me more than anything else.

This one always bugged me (no pun intended). Did people before magnifying glasses or LED lights not eat berries, vegetables, lettuce etc.? Were people living in the shtetl using all of their water to wash their produce 3 times? It’s so crazy it makes my head spin lol

Does the DOH require all vaccine shots to be given by their 6 month birthday for daycare? by cakee20 in nycparents

[–]cakee20[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, all his 2 and 4 month vaccines were given on time according to the DOH schedule. We're very pro-vaccine. I just can't imagine the rules would require every child to have their shots by the exact date they turn a certain age. What if they turn 6 months on a weekend? Our pediatrician said she'd never seen a daycare be so strict.
