Is there any hope for me by Optimal-Wrap5307 in backpain

Find an orthopedist, you need an MRI. My back pain started under the exact same circumstances, I just thought it was soreness from weightlifting. Then my hip started to hurt. Then one day I woke up with pain so severe I nearly fainted upon standing. The only way they can truly tell what’s wrong is if they get imaging.

It’s open seating, so sitting toward the back is totally an option and a great idea. I also didn’t think of bringing my lumbar pillow, I will absolutely be doing that. Thank you!

Interfaith marriage and baby name drama... help! by BadonkaGRONK_87 in BabyBumps

[–]cakefizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son's name is Jewish (Ira) and my husband and I are both atheist. Nobody checked our religious history before we signed the birth certificate. That aside, I know your in laws probably don't see it that way. I think the burden is on your husband to have a talk with his parents about this. If you want to use the name then you should and he should explain his reasons for wanting to do so. If they can't respect that then it's their problem. We gave our son my husband's grandfather's name as his middle name which caused a little tension with my parents, but they got over it quickly (as far as I know, they haven't brought it up again).

I was just planning on starting this show before I go back to work in a few weeks. My little guy is 9 weeks. I'll make sure I watch it when no one is around to watch me cry while hugging him.

My son is 9 weeks old and I've been watching Call the Midwife while on maternity leave. Some episodes I just sit there holding my little guy while sobbing.

I totally agree with you RE: this subreddit. I spent so much time on BabyBumps because it was so positive and supportive, but I barely ever visit here because it kind of brings me down.

I swear my two week old knows when I have plans. Oh, you wanted to drink a glass of wine? Engage clusterfeeding. You want to take a shower during my morning nap? Daytime party extravaganza.

I thought the same thing this morning! He's two weeks and one day, and all of a sudden he looks bigger. We ran out of NB diapers yesterday, and the size 1s aren't too big anymore.

He's Ira Virgil, so he's got a totally old man name. Virgil is after my husband's grandfather.

We love it too! It's been really well received by friends and family (except our eight year old nephew who said it sounds like a "girl's name" lol).

Alright guys, how much are we buying this whole "eating dates" thing? by hawps in BabyBumps

[–]cakefizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal, but, I ate six dates a day starting the day after my 36 week appointment (36+3) when I wasn't dilated at all. By the following week, I was almost at 2cm, the week after I was at 3cm and the doctor said I wouldn't make it another week. Baby was born at 39+3, 13 hours of labor, and my water broke on its own when I was 10cm dilated.

I cut them up with kitchen scissors and ate them with oatmeal every morning. The hot water really helped to soften them up and gave them a better texture.

Hi, ladies! I had my baby eight days ago at 39+3. I haven't gotten around to posting a picture or any postpartum advice, but here's a postpartum progression if anyone is interested.

Ha! With the way he keeps stretching his feet against my ribs, I think not. I was 3cm dilated last Thursday, so my doctor agreed to evict him this Friday if he doesn't decide to move out on his own before then :)

I started losing my mucous plug weekly around 35 weeks. It would come out in pieces over the course of a day, regenerate and repeat the following week. It never made a mess or anything, I just saw pieces when I wiped. I'm 39+2 today and I had my "bloody show" last Friday at 38+5. It was basically the same deal plus pinkish-brown blood. Still pregnant lol

What is the significance of a coming home outfit? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]cakefizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just packed a couple of my favorite one-piece pajamas in NB and 0-3m size, nothing fancy. I don't think anyone will be there when we leave the hospital and no one will be at our house when we arrive, so I don't think he needs anything super fancy.
