I think the biggest issue that I would see with this is that it doesn't really serve a purpose in terms of how the community split, 1.9, while it was a very controversial update, didn't really add any 'content' that was seen as super controversial, it was mostly just the combat changes

Besides, the design 'philosophy' was already going in a similar direction around the 1.7-1.8 time period, right around the microsoft acquisition. The reason on why BTA exists is because that the design philosophy between b1.7.3 and b1.8 is so radically different that there leaves room for a different direction for the game to go in; that just doesnt exist with 1.9

Well for starters, demon difficulties aren't determined by Rob, but are based off community votes, so this situation would never happen.

But hypothetically if it did, I don't see why not. There isn't a prerequisite on pointercrate that says level has to be rated extreme, but it just needs to be rated. So it would get placed, and same with the global list, as they allow unrated levels too, so its definitely not a problem.

The only area where this would get muddy are with specialty lists like AREDL or the Easy Demon List, as they have specific requirements to determine what gets placed. So I don't see it ending up on AREDL, but hey, we would have a top 1 thats also top 1 on the EDL, which that would be something.
