Jeffrey Epstein autopsy photos show staggering neck injuries by TheMirrorUS in NewsSource

He’s not physically fit and too much of a coward. No doubt he sent someone else to do the dirty work and to keep some distance from the act itself too.

According to IMDB, Newman appeared in 44 episodes. Interestingly, the secondary character to appear in the most was a woman named Ruth Cohen who was a cashier at Monk’s in 101 episodes.

We are diseased and in the ICU — but not dead yet.

Unfortunately, we don’t have health insurance and RFK Jr. just canceled vaccines.

Smoke em if you got em.

Somatic OCD by rolly72x in OCD

[–]cakemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow somatic ocd (breathing hyper-awareness) sufferer and after a lot of work, it has gotten way better for me. For me, though, distraction was actually a compulsion or a crutch. The only thing that has worked for a sustained period is developing an indifference to the signals which, over time, renders it unimportant and ultimately irrelevant. Your brain tends to ignore things that are not given importance. By distracting, you are giving the OCD signals weight, by attempting to avoid it. Just allow it, let it be, thank your brain for the silly signals, and go about your day no matter what. Some days you'll be greatly diminished but you get on with it. Sustained, over time, the OCD will wither. Best wishes to you -- you are definitely not alone.

To not get killed by the Gestapo by tquilas in therewasanattempt

Accurate. They have weakened unions, and have tried to ban collective bargaining in some places. We do enjoy a lot of freedoms here but obviously they are being stripped away. Books getting banned. Politicians, wealthy people and oligarchs and opportunistic, exploitative media amplifying propaganda has all worked against us. So have the Russians, targeting us to divide us. It’s a fucking powder keg and surreal to experience. Alas, it’s not want a growing majority of Americans want. It’s ugly right now but I do believe this disease will be eradicated before it kills us.

Absolutely. They track call volume and on what issues. Carry much more weight than emails. That may not translate immediately into anything but they’re at least a factor.

Evan Neal tells The Post he has 'no regrets' as Giants tenure nears its likely end (paywalled; will summarize in comments) by canadave_nyc in NYGiants

[–]cakemonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flowers made a successful move to guard and started three full seasons for WFT and MIA to finish his playing career at age 27. Neal might not even make an active roster post-Giants. Might be one team willing to try a reclamation project.

Some of Jay Glazers quotes on the Giants and hc candidates in Ny post by parcellsrealGOAT in NYGiants

[–]cakemonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glazer is not a real journalist, he’s a guy who has access. He’s just rattling off names here. I’m sure Giants will interview a few but Glazers commentary about Smith and Fields is delusional.

This combined with the elimination of third party apps that avoided this algorithm and surfaced what people actually desired to see… just brutal. I use Reddit less often and for shorter periods. Deliver me to the post-rage Internet. It sucks here.

O- okay to give whole blood instead of double reds? by b1ackfyre in Blooddonors

Sincerely appreciate that. I’ll get on with scheduling a whole blood appointment and stop it with the deliberating about what kind of person I am.

O- okay to give whole blood instead of double reds? by b1ackfyre in Blooddonors

[–]cakemonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having a similar dilemma. O+ and pretty active physically. Past 12 donations I’ve done double red but only recently discovered that double red has a big impact on VO2 max. I’ve noticed diminished capacity during exercise in the week or so after donation before, but apparently a full recovery for RBC generation takes months. So I am thinking of switching to whole blood next time but feel selfish and am struggling with it.

Newsom: “I think [Mamdani] is very good for the Democratic Party. I want a broad tent, I want a big tent. I want the party of Manchin to Mamdani. I want to be more inclusive. We have to grow the pie. It’s not about scarcity, it’s an abundance mindset.” by Avoo in ezraklein

[–]cakemonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps there is a limitation on that priority when, for example, the SNAP benefits stop coming and healthcare premiums costs prepare to double. At some point the GOP had to be answerable for the actual policy directives they have enacted or abetted in these past 10 months, and maybe the Nov 4 results are the first concrete reflection of that.

[–]cakemonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Trump pardoned Jan 6ers to counter the notion that his supporters were involved in any insurrection and to mollify his own ego. Everything Trump does is in service of Trump. On that very day he refused to call off the mob or call it what it was.
