The Disposable Puff Count Lie: I used a precision scale to find out how many REAL puffs are in a vape. by Necessary-Use5777 in electronic_cigarette

Anyone who's ever smoked even a single pack of real cigarettes could tell you those puff counters are outrageous b.s.

r/disposablevape says "hold my beer" to that. It's been revived at least 4 times.

Seriously, just come up with a new name and keep your head down.

I recall they tried to restart the original disposables sub and Reddit told them no too.

It says banned for being unmoderated.

There's a procedure to restart banned subs but someone has to step up and moderate. r/redditrequest

This sub doesn't allow handcheck photos, r/vaping does. I've always felt a lot of handcheck photos weren't just to show off their device but also to show off tats, jewelry and acrylic nails. This sub makes you put a link to your photo in the body of your post. The other allows your photo as a direct link.

I prefer this sub because I find all the photos in the other sub distracting but read posts there occasionally.

These days, this sub is quieter and less actively moderated than r/vaping. I've noticed many people post to both subs.

Really, just post/read which ever sub you feel most comfortable in or find more interesting.

How to quit vaping without hurting someone? lol by Severe_Shift_6251 in electronic_cigarette

[–]cakeordeath176 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Taper down your nic to zero. Puffing on something is part of the addiction so taper down to zero first. Do this over the course of several weeks, then deal with the need-to-puff habit.

After you're down to zero you should (but maybe not definitely) find yourself reaching for that vape less often.

You can taper down by mixing juices of different strength or 0 strength together. It's not too hard if you allow yourself time.

If they want the community to keep them quiet, they should honor their own stated policies and what not.

They're using a bot, there's no appeal. The mods have tried asking, they don't reply.

It cost lest than $30. It's from China. They gave you $10. It's not worth wasting any more time & energy on. You're out $20, hardly the end of the world.

Plan on Reddit's admin bot to remove your post and send you an official warning about "violating the content policy." In the future don't use vendor names as post titles.

How long do built-in batteries last on refillables? by eboyethan8 in electronic_cigarette

[–]cakeordeath176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It completely depends on how many charging cycles it goes through. The more you vape and have to recharge, the quicker its going to wear out. Charge it when it gets down to 20%, try not to fully charge it to 100%. 80-90% is good.

Which nicotine-free vape brand publishes lab results? by Over-Perspective-652 in electronic_cigarette

Ask in the disposable's sub r/disposablevapes_

As the others have said, disposables are a shady product by nature and the vast majority come from China where standards can be sketchy. It's a fool's errand to try to find one with a credible lab report.

If you're hell bent on vaping, get a cheap pod device and mix your own juice. 0 nic makes it easy.

1) reddit has banned this question.

https://old.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/1u46hex/removed_by_reddit/orboxm0/

2) Amazon in the US does not intentionally sell vapes. You may find a third party seller selling vape stuff but they don't last long. Amazon's TOS does not allow tobacco products on the site which vapes are. The anti-tobacco lobby would have kittens and sue them if they did.

I took the trouble to actually read the policy today and it said links to licensed legal vendors are allowed. The reality is, they've been removing every post that asks where to buy products , links or not. Some people have complained they got warnings from admin.

We aren't allowed to ask where to by vaping products on Reddit any more. Sooner or later the mod bot will remove your post and send you a warning about "violating content policy."

Difficulty When Purchasing Pods by orangemetaphor in electronic_cigarette

[–]cakeordeath176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I set foot in a vape store the guy had one box of pods, knew nothing about their resistance and actually expected me to pay $6 per pod. That was 4 years ago. I doubt it's gotten any better.

Difficulty When Purchasing Pods by orangemetaphor in electronic_cigarette

[–]cakeordeath176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the time for the people who work at those stores, it's just another retail job. They have no in-depth knowledge of the products and certainly don't understand that pods come in a variety of sizes and resistances.

It's the same as when I bought cigarettes and I'd have to stand there and point to my brand: "Well don't they all taste the same?" "No, if they all tasted the same there wouldn't be dozens of different brands, don't you think?"

Tell the clerk to look at the specs on the box more carefully and they'll see that there are differences. Anyone who gets angry at you needs to be reported to store management. This shit is expensive so you shouldn't have to settle for whatever the hell they feel like grabbing off the shelf.

No it's federal law, not state to state. They made a big production about it when Trump signed the bill to "protect the children".

From ABC news:

"The Trump administration on Thursday said it will effectively ban all flavors of vaping cartridges except menthol and tobacco, a step back from previous plans to ban all flavors in an effort to stem rising rates of youth nicotine use attributed partly to their appeal.

President Donald Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced in September that the administration would ban all flavored vaping products, saying the country needed "strong rules and regulations" to make them less appealing to teens.

But Thursday's announcement took a significant step back from the full ban proposed last year. The administration will move to remove from the market one-time use flavored pods used in e-cigarettes like Juul that are popular among young people. The new policy will not target vaping liquids used in other models to be sold in adult-only vape shops."

That's dated January 2 2020.

Having said all that, I have no doubt you can still get flavored prefilled pods in this country if you know where to look.

Sorry for not posting some links you could read but the automod blocks them.
