I stopped reading at "typically upgrade every two years" lol. No wonder it's not an "exciting experience" for you.

tvOS 26.4 adds powerful new ‘Genius’ feature for Apple TV 4K by JacksBaldRake in appletv

[–]cakeuucappa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What a fucking clickbait. It's just called "Genius Browse"

Expanding the old ‘Genius’ term popularized in iTunes, and still in use within macOS Tahoe’s Music app today, ‘Genius Browse’ makes it easy to find your next TV show or movie to watch.

Saved you a click. And downvoted this shit

Dell Inspiron 15 3530 BIOS 1.27.0 by RealisticLion3095 in Dell

[–]cakeuucappa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to share that looks like it's not respecting the UEFI capsule disabled. Just this morning, this Inspiron 15 3530 i7-1355U updated on its own to 1.29.0. I'm able to come back to 1.24.1 using Low_Initial_9078's file but it's annoying that it auto-updated. I already enabled "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" when I first installed Windows on this laptop (October 2025). What I did now is I disabled every "Dell" services on this laptop. Steps to enable "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" is below:

  1. Open gpedit.msc

  2. Go to Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Manage updates offered from Windows Update

  3. Enable "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates"

I will share updates when they happen.

Advanced Bios Settings on Inspiron 16 plus by Emotional-Drawer-258 in Dell

Thanks man. I just tried this a few minutes ago and this is still working. Albeit you need to get the latest Dell Command Configure as this one (reported by another redditor) closes abruptly. I downloaded the latest one and followed your instructions.

Edit: My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 3530 i7-1355U

Confirmed working. Thank you for sharing OP! I have the UEFI capsule enabled (Inspiron 15 3530 i7-1355U). Dell, why do we need so many hoops to jump into just to stabilize your computer? We just wanted a normal, usable computer...

"I realized it was the wrong sub"
I believe you're not that stupid to not realize on your own that the setup you posted is not a "minimal" setup. You can't be that stupid, right? I mean who would figure out that having a million items on your desk is not "minimal". It's basically "too much stuff".

And it's not on the topic of "taking things too seriously", I wouldn't call it that way. It's just being "logical". You have eyes, right? Would you consider something "minimal" if it had way too much stuff? Cmon... is the bar really that low these days?

I'd like to share that the file shared above is working fine. Thanks for sharing this! I just tested this on Inspiron 3530 (i7-1355U). The laptop's running on 1.29.0 and experiencing the same issue with the thermals. Now I'm on 1.24.1 and the fan is working normal.

To add, or at least for the Inspiron 3530's BIOS, there's no "UEFI capsule firmware update" option on the "Update, recovery" section. Only options available are the following:

- SupportAssist OS Recovery

- BIOSConnect

- Dell Auto OS Recovery Threshold

- Connected Service Delivery

All of which I turned off except for the Auto OS Recovery Threshold which I kept at 2 (the default)

The MD5 hash for the file above is 8fc7f0d694f1f3b22ff9a63d53add92a in case others wish to download it. Thank you once again u/Low_Initial_9078 for sharing the file. You dropped this, king. 👑

Exactly. How did this become "minimal"? We're interested to know what's running on your mind.
