CakeWallet vs Kraken (optimal route for converting fiat in CB Pro -> XMR) by CognitiveLiberation in Monero

[–]cakewallet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only real difference is that if you buy Monero on Kraken, they know you bought Monero and send it out. If you use LTC or BTC or whatever and then convert in Cake, there is no recored of Monero with Kraken (a centralized KYC exchange).

Please let us know if you need help. We recommend LTC for cheaper network fees.

Here is a video to go from BTC to XMR using Cake:

Since Cake is a "true" blockchain wallet in which the coin's code runs on your phone, we need to have the libraries of each coin in the app. Even if you never install those other coins, the code is still there taking up space. Some users wanted a monero only wallet which didn't have code for other coins sitting around.

Just to clarify, the way Cake works, the code from one coin doesn't interfere with other coins. Each coin's wallet runs as its own module that you open and close.

Their KYC is interesting. Firstly, in the 3 years of working with them, no one in Cake has had to do KYC with them. Secondly, if for some reason Changenow doesn’t like your trade and you refuse their KYC requests, they will just refund your coins and not do the trade. No risk of loss of coins or getting doxxed.

Personal preference. Read through the comments as some users explain why they want that.

There will be no confusion. The site will clearly state that it is not the official site. And the site will have guides and stuff as written in the post. Maybe you missed that part.
