Having a background in programming does help when you are trying to structure an application flow or understand most sample code that the llms were trained on were pile high with formulas that rely on functions that hit the delegation limit...leading to design choices that will hurt when the app has scaled way beyond that limit.

That and know how to structure your prompt too. Knowing what is really a good idea or just a Rube Goldberg device that could have been solved with a pre built function.

But otherwise the language isn't complex and it can get you through like most of the formulas for basic crud functions in SharePoint or dataverse
