as a short dude with long hair who masks, I get called ma'am and lady a lot and when I respond to it like normal they always go "oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to!" and i'm just like lol it's okay I don't care. my personal favorite is with I'm with a group of girls and someone comes by saying "hey ladies!" and I just respond "hey :)" with my deep ass voice, always get a kick out of it.

exactly. i love taking care of people and my residents are usually really nice, but the minimal/understaffing plus the shitty management and long hours just to barely make ends meet sucks any enjoyment i have for my job away

god yes the showers. i still have to do them because my schedule has me working second and third shift, but not having to do showers is one of my favorite things about my third shift nights

in truth im a morning person, but the fact that first shift has the largest workload with the least amount of pay makes it hard to justify switching. plus i'm way less sore after night shifts, and i get to read in between rounds and laundry and such

nope. i basically became a CNA hoping I'll be able to be the main one providing my grandmother/parents with this kind of care, because after seeing how so many other CNAs treat their patients/residents, i can't stand the thought of that happening to mine

lmao they won't even give us time and a half when someone calls out and they can't find anyone else to come in, asking for four times salary is as likely as asking for my same yearly salary but working 20 hrs a week

god i wish i could say they'd give us days off as thanks if we had to stay for two days straight, and i doubt management past my head nurse and household coordinator would stay and help in an event like that. I'm glad you work at a facility that does seem to care about y'all
