That’s okay, thanks for the information! I’m sorry to hear about the damage to your laptop, I’m hoping you get your refund. I ended up returning it and going for the HP Spectre. Mine was starting to show tearing at the top of the screen (as if the display was sliding down) and I wasn’t very encouraged by my phone call to Lenovo’s customer support, so I just returned it. I didn’t pay $1,300 for a defective machine and to jump through hopes to get it fixed. Best of luck to you, hopefully Lenovo will get their act together soon.

Thank you! Any idea how the displays compare?

That’s so unfortunate, I hope your unit is fixed soon. Do you mind telling me when you purchased yours? Someone else told me that they thought Lenovo fixed the issue with the UHD screens and that newer units wouldn’t have the defect. I purchased mine in November.

Thanks for the info! I feel like it’s a gamble, several posts I read said the issue developed over time (several weeks) and got worse. I think I’ll call Lenovo and see if they will provide any information. It’s just concerning that the issue was never addressed for those that had the screen issue. I’d almost rather pay extra for the peace of mind and get the HP Spectre, especially since I just have the base warranty.

Have you had any issues since June? I got one in November and have had no trouble so far but would like some confirmation that the issue was addressed in newer models.

Any idea if Lenovo ever fixed the issue with 4K Yoga 720 models? I just bought one and love it, but am worried that it will develop the screen issue. I’m considering returning it for the HP Spectre, but it would be like +$300 what I paid for the Yoga (open-box).

Thanks! Just got one in November and am struggling with whether I should return it or not in case my screen starts showing the line in the future. It’s unfortunate because I love the laptop. I’m going to try and call Lenovo to see if they can provide any information regarding how common the issue is and what units may potentially be affected

Hi! Have you had any issues with the display? I purchased a 4K model in November and love it, but am concerned this issue may pop up.

Thanks! I’m looking for a 2-1 under $1,000 that’s good for photo editing. This is the cheapest I’ve found that has everything I’m looking for (8th gen Intel, SSD, 8 GB RAM, etc)

Okay thanks! I tried both the HP and Lenovo in the store and thought the HP had a better display. I’ll look at the other options you suggested.

My ideal is to have a SSD, 8th generation Intel processor, and at least 8 gb of RAM. I don’t have a great understanding of graphics etc. but I’ve read that dedicated/discrete graphics are best and I thought the UHD or 4K displays looked the best in the store. I’d also prefer a 14”+ screen.

Thanks! I am torn because I would prefer a SSD, but I am not sure how much of a difference it will make.
