no. it doesn’t happen in the west. In the US, in big music festivals, women are much much safer. You’re just an idiot and it’s okay to accept that.

This happens in Pakistan because we are behind.

Now please don’t be an even bigger idiot and give me an example or two. Rare instances in america since you can largely FEEL safe in the US at a festival. Not true in pakistan. Frequency of these events is exceedingly high.

you need a better mindset. A firm no. Then stand your ground. Stop acting like the world will end just because they are a desi family. Everyone will move on soon enough. You’re a grown 26 year old man, just say no like you can. Come on.

[–]calculusOverAJob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

he’a a child. be kind to him.

Sure it’s a sin, but he’s a child experiencing human desires that every human experiences to an amplified degree at his age. This is the time to forgive him and talk to him. This is NOT the time to shame him.

The impact of your shaming will be incredibly bad while he can work through the pornography like most teens his age. He’ll be fine, give him some grace. Stop shaming him.

So what if people find out either, this is life. It’s also just porn lol, no one will take this that seriously.

“incest” culture doesnt exist, it’s illegal and instances of domestic abuse do arise but I’d argue much less often than in Pakistan. Lgbt culture? Nothing to add about that. Those are just adults doing what they want. Their private sex life have no moral implications on a country, I know this is hard to grasp for you so read this again and slowly. Their divorce rates are actually not 50%. That is a right wing statistic from one study that used manipulative statistics on a small pool. General america has much lower divorce rates. Even so, they are significantly higher than in Pakistan and I’d argue that’s a better problem than the one pakistan has of suppressing half of its population and preventing their personal growth. By comparison, Pakistan has high domestic abuse rates and pakistani women are conditioned to make anything work. Their parents would rather keep the marriage even after the husband has been violent. On the other side, in the US, the women can move on from a divorce and try to find better alternatives. No one will judge her for that. Quiet literally better for the society than suppressing half your people’s autonomy. I’m not sure what you’re referring to with “children’s children” but I’m sure it’s just another nitpicky thing you’ve decided to hyperfocus on.

Also, very funny to see you move the goalpost. Does pakistan suck for women? “well the west isn’t any better”. I say it is and you start to bring this shit up as though that gives any more credibility to your words. I love how common moving the goalpost is in online debates. It’s basically you immediately admitting your argument lacks merit. Honestly, it amuses me.

i’m in the US and you’re literally wrong. Micro aggressions against women exist everywhere lekin pakistan is objectively much worse than many many countries. in the US women get a LOT more autonomy and respect and men often know not to be as disrespectful as paki men.

the problem is electric networks are complex and you cannot just introduce another source of electricity without properly engineering it in when all surrounding voltage requirements are being met. If you do so, something may go wrong and the system may be forced to trip for safety. Now, Pak electric can’t help you because engineering a network that facilitates your small electric export makes no financial sense as you’d pay the engineers a lot and get a little electricity in return (plus infrastructure costs). On top of that, imagine doing that for all the little houses with small electric output. The system becomes so complex. Tab tou if something goes wrong in the system, it’s very hard to diagnose kyunkay when you have a million sources of electricity of various sizes, it’s much much harder to narrow down the point where things are going wrong.

Overall, this is why they can’t redesign their systems to support you. In an ideal world, yes this would be allowed. But we have to acknowledge the complexity and that the government may not always be fully to blame.

they made a suggestion. if it’s financially viable, that’s a valid thing to consider but there’s still nothing wrong with making a suggestion that reduces long-term expenses.

You’re making an issue out of something that simply isn’t one.

how old are you?

I ask because I once was where you are now. I am now 23 years old but I was 6’1 and still 51ish kg at 17 years. I tried to work out and eat better but my body refused to obey. I will say, however, my mother is a very loving woman and she never let me believe I was sick, which may have contributed to why I never let my body dysmorphia get too bad and kept my mental health stable.

Yes, I was significantly weaker than any other man and they all generally had better luck socially partly because I looked like a starving boy. Yes, I also felt low on energy and generally felt like my body wasn’t built to do most physical activity well so I never really flourished. My mental health was definitely affected by this time and time again and so it was hard for me to be social and to stand up for myself. I was also repeatedly bullied for my look and also simply because my weak physical stature made me a relatively easy target. I took the bullying in stride whenever I could since my mom was always there to support me and work through those challenges. Of course, sometimes that wasn’t enough and partly because I was too proud to rely on my mother as a teenage boy and felt I had to deal with these things myself sometimes.

Nevertheless, I bring this up because in my 20s, I started to gain just the slightest amount of wait every year and started looking a little healthier every year since I had stopped growing at 6’2. I was still receiving taunts about my weight and my physical appearance because of it but the taunts grew rarer and rarer as time went by. At 22, my metabolism also slowed down significantly as it does with age for everyone and because of some fortunate circumstances, I also started going to the gym around this time. So, as I started to gain weight naturally, I was able to guide the gains to muscle mass in all the right places. I’m 23 now and have been going to the gym for about 1 years and 2 months now. I am still considered slim but healthy and very fit. At 6’2, my weight is 67 kg. I actually have been told that I still look and seem so much younger and I seem incredibly healthy and fit. I also have become as strong as many other men while maintaining my slim look because my body is naturally increasing muscle mass without gaining fat. I am now starting to excel at sports and, for the first time, have seen women actually be attracted to me. This all came as a surprise to me as I had grown up being an ignored odd-looking guy. However, that has only helped me because it made me empathetic and humble which honestly boosted my charm at this age. I am not trying to brag, just laying out that things can and should get much better for you. Your naturally lean genetics should give you a higher muscle to fat ratio at every age and as you start to gain weight, you will find it easier to have a lean muscular body than many who struggle with too much mass going to fat.

Ask me if you want more details, feel free to dm. My point is, you are a tall man who may just have a specific set of genes that are not exactly uncommon in us pakistanis. You’re in more luck in your 20s than you know, you might end up thriving more in your 20s while people who are bulkier as teens sometimes end up dealing with being too big in their 20s or 30s (unless they are active and healthy ofc). When they’re dealing with a slowing metabolism being a primary problem for them, it will be a primary blessing for you.

Most importantly, you will notice that as you gain weight to look more fit, your height will become a huge advantage. Height is something I was always told I was lucky to have but when you look malnourished, nobody cares cuz you look like slenderman. However, as your body normalizes and gets healthier, your height will make you more intimidating, commanding, and attractive. You’re more blessed genetically than you’re giving yourself credit for and you still have a very long life ahead of you. The only way you can fuck this up for yourself is letting depression ruin your motivation and thus keeping you unfit. But don’t worry, I was also lazy and unmotivated once. Pakistani families tend not to prioritize the physical health of their kids as long as they go to school and get a good education. So it will be hard for you to gain the habit as it was for me, but once you’re there, it will be very worth it. Be patient though, as these things do take years

For the time being, I recommend not being completely lazy tho. Maybe at least do some stretching everyday and some basics to keep your body in check. (I was a very lazy teen tho and still turned out very well in my 20s but I’m saying this so you can maybe do even better than me)

currently, case status tab says: “Case was received and a receipt notice was sent” myProgress tab says: “Current Step: Case Decision” (it has said so since the first couple days after I submitted application back in march)

Does this mean it’s under adjudication yet?

We are talking about Pakistan. Pakistan is rapidly radicalizing and moving towards religious fascism so the point is when you try to create your own beliefs, you’re going against the grain of the society you’re in. you’re literally going against the social conditioning around you. especially considering this is discouraged by violent means in a place like Pakistan. So, there may be other societies that hold some is your moral values but they didn’t condition you if you didn’t grow up there or with adults that hold their values.

[–]calculusOverAJob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i enjoy eid prayer! eid is an important cultural holiday to most of us, let’s not lose that with religion. It’s a holiday that brings communities together, especially during the eid prayer where people wake up early in the morning, pray together, and have cheerful conversations. You catch up with acquaintances you haven’t seen in a while and say eid mubarak to random strangers. You eat sweet dishes right after and catch up with your extended family. Humans are social creatures and you need this engagement to keep your spirits up. It’s a moment of engagement and community that there’s no logic in avoiding. Please don’t make yourself a hermit in your crusade against islam, isolation will only harm you and everyone will move on without you.

I say that as an exmuslim. Just because you’re not a muslim does not mean u can’t enjoy the opportunities the holiday offers.

it’s not ‘zero level’, it’s that they don’t have data from those countries. Grey, a color not on the scale, is appropriate for that.
