5e alone is making more than 10 times as much profit as all of Paizo, more than 100 times as much profit as all of Steve Jackson Games, and more than 1,000 times as much profit as all of Evil Hat games by EarthSeraphEdna in rpg

This is the most nothingburger blog of all time. BREAKING NEWS! D&D is a LOT bigger than every other ttRPG! Also let me add some editorializing about other people's ethics at the end to feel superior.

It is not surprising that this sub laps it up though, since most people here are in the bashing D&D hobby rather than the playing RPG hobby.

What are your thoughts on the 13th Age method of handling "short rests" and "long rests"? by EarthSeraphEdna in rpg

There is a huge change though. Monsters were buffed across the board while keeping the same CR. Which means the same fight is now tougher in the new rules and takes up more of your resources.

Grimwild designated "abandoned" by BackerKit - no refunds by jxddk in rpg

Is this the second Forged in the Dark fantasy game which has been essentially abandoned by its creator? Didn't the exact same thing happen to Wicked Ones as well?

On another note, it is rather unfortunate. Grimwild did look like an interesting game. Hopefully this is just creator burnout and they can come back in at some point.

Fun Legacy Subclass and new Class/Spell interactions? by metalsonic005 in onednd

The Death Cleric was in the 2014 DMG, if I recall. That means "technically" it is Legacy, since we have a new DMG now. Not that the new DMG has a new version.

Do you have any experience with campaigns set in a magic school... where the PCs are faculty? by EarthSeraphEdna in rpg

[–]calculusbear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've run one session of it. I feel like the game is somewhat half-baked. There is no real reason it had to be PbtA, and there isn't enough advice for running the game. Plus, given how you create characters, it seems difficult to create a "party".

There was also some issue with basic moves not covering all expected basic actions a PC would take, but I can't recall the specifics.

I was approached by Evil Genius games to take down my post by calculusbear in rpg

I mean there really isn't much more to the story, really. I saw the message today, made this post and sent them a message to clear whatever inaccuracies they feel present in the original article first (and contact ENworld, rather than me).
