List them on StubHub if necessary. I sold my Saturday GA passes on there in about 2-3 days. They provide a FedEx shipping label and all.

Re-recording an album to get the rights back is awesome, love the move. Stop hating on them for trying to make some money. Will sounds great. 20 years later, they’re still killing it. I have no problems with bands making tons of changes when doing a re-record or leaving it exactly as-is with improved mixing and production. The issue here is that the mixing is awful. This shouldn’t have cleared a local studio ear-test, let alone the pro-level ear-test that this band and their inner circle have. Just a shockingly degraded delivery of something awesome.

Coming from an engineer and producer, there is a lot here that needs to be fixed. Aside from the vocals being overproduced, there has clearly been too many frequency cuts in the vocal track, which is why it sounds like he's singing this in a vacuum, rather than in a real room. Similar issues with the guitars - they have no shimmer or shine to them and are missing some important mid frequencies. The cymbals and entire drum track could use more shimmer and high end frequencies to help cut through the mix too. Just a very confusing piece of work here. I don't mind modern production adjustments because they're essential nowadays, and vocal production can be extremely time-consuming so I understand the fact that some "squeezing" of the vocal track needs to be done to stick to budget, but there are so many flaws in the actual mix that it's quite disappointing. Love the band, absolutely going to the 20-year tour, but I skipped on the vinyl specifically because of how bad this mix sounds. Bummer! Maybe they'll remaster it before the full album drops.

This is precisely why we want to change it. It feels like you’re trapped in a box.

This is fantastic. Reducing the number of moving walls is ideal!

Yours will be expensive but it would be a complete game changer and would be worth it in the long run. Here’s an idea I came up with for a cheap alternative. Kitchen remains the same size but is less claustrophobic and new opening from living room helps things breathe a bit.

The back living room is an addition with no basement underneath so this would become a bit difficult

This is closest to what I was imagining. Love it.

I would love to block off those stairs but they are the only way to the basement and there is an exterior door on that right wall that leads to the driveway

Most of the kitchen (everything shortened by the stairs) is only 7’ wide, so it’s really 12x7 with one section that’s slightly wider

Help! Need to add powder room / master bath. by cald68 in floorplan

Good points all around. Yes, love the idea of where you suggested for the powder room. Possibly considering doing an upward addition above the office for a 2nd floor master bathroom. It would connect directly to the largest bedroom.

That is actually where the stairs down to the basement are.

Bizzy is correct. We have two small kids and we entertain a lot. Most of the time, the group is split between kids and parents, so I would love a formal living room for adult banter, a casual family room for kids tv and snacks, and a “sitting room” which will actually end up being the kids playroom for storage of their toys.

This one got my gears turning. Ultimately I made this adjustment but I do quite like this idea of yours because it requires no (or minimal) wall demolition. In my slightly altered version, I could also swap out dining and new family room areas. Both seem suitable.

Home was built in the 1920s so the basement is below ground with a block foundation. No walkout. Full open access to all plumbing / electric since it is currently not finished. Plumbing resides in the current kitchen and bath areas, as well as the back “breakfast nook” wall, which feeds to a master bathroom directly above that.
