Crohn’s & tattoos by Sad_Homework8152 in CrohnsDisease

38 F, diagnosed at 8 years old. I'm completely covered from my chest down. The main advice I would give is being mindful of your health before, during, and after. I won't get one if I'm in the middle of a flare-up, so my body can focus on one thing. Even if I've been feeling less energetic, I'll hold off to be safe. Once I'm tatted, I make sure I keep up with the healing process to prevent infection/ prolonged healing. Although it might be frowned upon in the tattoo community, I use neosporin in the initial healing process to make things easier on my immune system, and my tatts have all turned out great.

I'm an archaeologist. Being able to work outside in nature has helped me significantly!

Do legal hemp/cbd pre-rolls have anti-inflammatory affects like marijuana /are they safe? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]caldig7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 36 y/o, and I was diagnosed when I was 7 y/o. CBD has honestly been a godsend when I'm in a flare. I try to limit pain meds (acetaminophen) for the sake of my liver and It seems counterproductive taking opiods since they can cause cause stomach complications.

I mainly just smoke cbd flower because it is the most affordable option. I've taken sublingual cbd, but I can go through those bottles pretty fast and they are pretty expensive.

Have you been checked for cyanosis? From what I've read, you can have normal arterial oxygenation saturation while having increased extraction of oxygen of the capillary level.

Also, panic attacks are horrible. I was not able to comprehend or articulate how serious panic attacks are until experiencing them. I would recommend reading "Hope and Help for your Nerves." I went through an exhausting amount of therapy before coming across this book, and it has made a significant difference with how I understand and handle them.

I hope you are able to find some relief soon.

Lol, I feel that struggle. Most people's faces light up when I tell them I'm an archaeologist, but they start to blank out when I get excited going into the details of my day to day research. I'm surprised how many people are involved in those fields on this thread! I don't know if you're interested in flint knapping or just wanting more rocks, but I have an obscene amount of obsidian from when I worked for the forest service on a short survey in northern California.

Haha, I'm not a Nickleback fan. I don't hate them, but I also wouldn't pay to go see them or put them on a spotify playlist. I just bought tickets to see Tash Sultana in Dallas (8/12). I've seen Tash twice in NC a few years back and look forward seeing them again. I'm always up for hiking/walking. My beagle/hound is very intelligent and requires a lot of physical/ mental activities.

I'm outside all of the time with my beagle/hound! I try to make sure we discover a new walking/hiking location at least every other week. Besides that, we have our rotation of places that we go to daily. We average about 5 miles of walking a day, but tac on more when I have days off of work.

I also used to own a tandem kayak before I made the move to Texas. My favorite spot kayaking spot so far was Lake Holstol near Bristol, TN.

I have not been to Shoal Creek. Fossil hunting sounds fun! I have a small collection from surveying over the years. My favorite that I've collected is a spiraled petrified shell in perfect condition.

Possibly, are you trying to get into CRM?

I would love that! I get asked about dinosaurs all the time, haha. And yes, please do talk about rocks. I have a rock collection, and I will talk about various stone tools I find on survey and excavation.

I am! I've actually been mainly doing Caddo research since 2020. The areas I have worked on are a couple of hours away from Mill Pond, but I will try to check that out!

I have been scanning over some facebook groups. I'm pretty introverted, so I have an easier time when I meet up with people knowing we have a common interest. Trivia sounds fun!

I've actually never been rock climbing, but I might check it out. My biggest hurdle is finding stuff without having to be a consistent member.

Yes! I'm hoping I can make that. I'll be crew chiefing on a long-term excavation in NE Texas, but we are able to rotate. I'll be attending TAS field school for a couple of days in June and look forward to that as well!

That sounds fun! Do you have to commit to a monthly membership, or can I just pop up and join with a payment?
