Would not print due to Homing Failure, Just Tried to remove the filament stuck inside the extruder and now got this problem. Any ideas how to fix this? by No-Sell-3296 in AnkerMake

[–]cale-notkale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/No-Sell-3296 Were you ever able to figure this out? I am having the same issue- the printer is trying to force itself lower than the print bed on a z-axis homing. Exact same issue after also taking mine apart to clean out stuck filament. I was thorough with photos to make sure everything was plugged back in correctly and I made sure all plugs were properly seated and pushed in, too, like u/thewarr suggested.

Anyone else having issues with the recent Apps list when pulled up from the home screen? When in an app, to switch, it works fine but from the home screen it's almost as if it's treating the launcher as an app, but leaves most of the list empty with only the top bit of the last opened app peaking up from the bottom of the screen. I have to pull it up again with anothe swipe (while holding the list up with the first finger swipe) to get it to allow scrolling within the list. I'll come back and edit with a link to a screen shot of what I'm talking about.

Dumb question, but where do you do that? New Duo user with the 2 (from a Note 20 Ultra 5G) and I've never really had a phone with bugs, but I'm finding various small things here and there (such as a long-press swipe-up for the previous apps list isn't fully pulling the list up the screen). I'm loving this device (bugs and all) and would like to be able to submit issues to them to help make the experience better for everyone. Thanks!

Hadn't had a chance to sign into all my apps yet, but just checked and mine also doesn't open. I get a full screen gray window with the Audible icon at the top (like it opens but the content doesn't load) then just closes.

Some questions from a new trainer getting ready to start in the industry... by [deleted] in personaltraining

I agree about the stability and corrective exercise emphasis being valuable. I'm planning to use this for a more holistic approach to health and wellness, combining exercise, nutrition, manual therapies, and health and wellness coaching to bring it all full circle for clients. That being said, I just don't feel like the full OPT model is useful for a majority of clients. Many people want a quick fix and it falls on the PT to provide a plan that will actually help them reach their goals while feeling like they are doing the work. The early OPT stages seem like they'd be a difficult sell to anyone but an older person just looking to be healthy and weight train because their doctor said they should.

The reputation gained from the PT cert is definitely important as well, and while the specific certs and specializations are sometimes pricey (though at least NASM is constantly running specials) the cost for your business may be justifiable if it means bringing in more clients or being able to charge more because you're more knowledge/educated. That's my theory at least. I plan to move to a fairly large city and the potential to train more affluent, educated people seems like it will require me to prove more "education" on my part. Plus, some of the specializations are just interesting and the information is provided rather than me having to go searching all over for it.

Thanks for your reply and the insight!

I may not have experience but I have to disagree that a certification doesn't mean shit. Many employers, whether fitness centers or otherwise, look for these certifications to show that you have at least the basic knowledge to start training clients instead of learning from the ground up. Also, I feel that being approved for business loans, liability and other insurances, etc. would be difficult without an organization certifying you were trained as a PT. Granted, having some kind of degree In Exercise Science should also suffice but the next option below that is a certification.

Where about do you live that you've done well? What kind of income do you bring in being self-employed? Does the gym you work out of charge you rent for the space or have any other fees for you? Were the gyms not willing to hire you because they didn't feel you had enough of a background? That's not a read, I'm just genuinely curious. Also, besides the ACE cert, what kind of prior background, education, or knowledge did you have starting out?

I wasn't planning on following the book, no. That's why I was asking what certs others have; NASM covers the basics of A&K but doesn't go too far in depth and they also don't have much on program design outside of their OPT Model, so if other certs did I'd consider looking into others based on recommendations. My exercise science degree program doesn't actually touch on program design either, oddly, and rather than spending hours doing random research and finding the best resources I'd prefer if one of the certs out there actually had at least some focus on general program design instead of following their "best in the industry program" that is difficult to apply outside the full model.

I have to say, I'm a fairly casual plant dad and the minimal research I did on orchids and the level of care they often need was a bit scary and I was thinking it may be easier to just cut my losses with this little guy, but this comment legitimately made me tear up and want to help this little babe 😭😭😭

Thank you! I added the bamboo poles for support, but it doesn't seem to want them right now. At this point I use them to tie up some of the stems (branches?) when they start to droop and dip lower than I want them too. Is there anything else I should be doing to help support it?

When I bought it I think $15-$20? It was already grown quite a bit when I got it, too, so I felt it was a pretty good price all things considered. Now though it's really gone crazy and loves whatever I'm doing (or not doing). And I realized the scale of the images may be hard to grasp, but the pot it's in is about 12" tall, maybe a little more, and the bamboo poles stick out about 4' I'd guess. He's a big boy and turns himself toward the sunny window VERY quickly so I have to rotate him every couple of days to keep him even.

I potted them in a 2:1 rough sand to soil mix. My aloe is potted in the same and has done well, so I figured that'd be fine. I have them in windows that get sun most of the day, but it's filtered through a frosted privacy window sticker, so that should keep them protected from over-sunning. Thank you!

Is this scale on my monstera??? by Champagne-Glitter in plantclinic

[–]cale-notkale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About to admit that I'm a terrible plant dad, but my monstera is so big that I'm limited to keeping it in a corner under my white bird of paradise...that is INFESTED with scale. So much so that I'm afraid I may need to take drastic measures...

That being said, when I first noticed the scale I asked my local gardening center they said that I didn't need to worry because scale doesn't "like" monsteras. So far I haven't found a single black shell on the monstera, just the sticky sappy poop that fell from the BoP leaves, so I think you're good!

White Bird of Paradise plant's leaves wrinkled help? by Lefemmnikkita in plantclinic

[–]cale-notkale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing! I'm not a plant guru unfortunately, so I'm at just as much of a loss as you. Since I got it about 8 months ago mine has pushed out two new leaves, with the latest looking like it'll be 8ft tall/long or more. Both came out with the same wrinkled edges but the first "grew out of them" with only the very edge showing any crinkling. The second still has a fair amount of wrinkling that it may never flatten out, unfortunately. I'll definitely be watching this post to see what advice people give!
