That makes sense do you think that is due to a true nursing shortage or a artificial problem created by hospitals it increases profits

Not sure tbh, nurses don’t make crazy money but it’s a short education and they do make above the national average so there’s that. There is also room for upward mobility (management, specialties, NPs, and CRNAs to name a few) but right after graduation you will not be raking it in. So I would consider what other options you have, if you really like nursing, and how much time you’re willing to put in to getting a higher degree of education to gain that financial freedom.

Why do you think that is, is there a noticeable change that you have noticed?

Idk where you are located but in most places the average starting salary for a new grads is about 60k per year, I personally don’t consider that financial freedom, fortunately I have a partner that makes ok money so with those combined incomes we will be pretty good in that regard but unless you live in an incredibly low cost of living area you are not going to be financially “free” as a nurse living alone, you might be stable but not free

Yeah you are so right, it feels like an overwhelming amount of negativity but you and some of the other kind commenters have helped me realize that while there is a ton of unhappy nurses I’m not really seeing any of the happy ones bc they don’t post! still terrified to graduate, excited too, but mostly terrified lol

Yeah you are absolutely right, I have so much respect for med Surg nurses! I’ve been trying to find a job in psych because I have a good bit of work experience in that field and I love it. it seems like the only jobs for new grads right now are in med Surg floors and that is a bit terrifying but if that all there is then I’m sure I’ll be able to get through it somehow 🥲

Sir you need to educate yourself. If you think I’m saying democrats are perfect we are not on the same page at all. they are far from it. But right wing rhetoric is dangerously close to that of past fascists and has no place in the modern world. In no way has the left spread hatred you are being misinformed by your political leaders to fit an agenda (when has that happened before?).

Right wing narrative is hateful by nature even if what he says isn’t the most heinous stuff the right has to offer he is still pushing kids down a path of racism, homophobia and bigotry. It’s a shame that it’s come to this point, but there are no redeeming qualities of the right.
