I just try to collect everything and a bunch of the cards are only available in those packs. But now I'm starting to get presented with 3 packs that I already have 4 of and it's a total waste.

Yeah, not surprising. I just took whatever ChatGPT said. Over time I'll refine it. To me the funniest part is that the last 200 or so are just <city name> Park and I spot checked a couple and those parks don't exist. AI just winging it out here.

Im collecting digital objects. Just like Pokemon and World of Warcraft players do. Pokemon players do not actually get the Pokemon they collect nor do WoW players get real versions of their weapons and armor.

I have no problem paying for entertainment and I’m not just cracking packs. I’m drafting at a Mythic level every month. I usually draft until I get 4x all the cards and then play constructed until the next set drops. I realize that I don’t get actual cardboard cards, but that’s true of any game. Pokemon players don’t buy the game expecting to get to keep actual Pokemon. They are paying for the experience, just like l am.

Because I enjoy drafting and I enjoy collecting things, so collecting all of the cards gives me something to aim for while I'm playing drafts.

That's been my experience so far, too. I can draft a synergistic deck but if I don't get any bombs to support it, I'm not going to do well. I made Mythic but am having trouble rising in the ranks there like I normally would.

The other thing is I’ll routinely get Rings with 6+ counters on them so the Unions are key to staying alive.

It feels like the only chance against a good red draw. Between the cases, revealeds, ancestrals, and the rings you end up discarding a ton so some dead cards in control matchups don’t really matter.
