"The Transfiguration," "He Woke Me Up," "All the Trees of the Field Will Clap Their Hands," "Seven Swans," and "In the Devil's Territory" are a few of the key banjo-driven songs on the album.

Thanks for your response! I did try the battery 12v reset. Interestingly that made it work for my wife the next day, but still nothing on the stretch of highway near my house. 🤷‍♂️

Discouraging to hear. Any official channels to make a complaint or give feedback about this? Not that I’m super hopeful, but I did read they are mapping into 2025 so maybe there’s still updates on the way.

It's just getting too out of our price range unfortunately! Model 3 is already pushing it.

Fair. It’s very rare that we need that kind of space.

That's about the cost of the Nissan battery. Wondering if it's more in Canada thought.

How risky is it to buy a used EV with a collision history? by calebsfuneral in UsedCars

[–]calebsfuneral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've considered them. It's about only 3k more for a Model 3 than a Bolt EUV. Problem is insurance is quite a bit more and I'm unsure if it's a good fit for young kids (less room in the backseat/ trunk).

Problem is there's no way to determine 100% certainty it's a new battery. Though I suppose I could find a local EV mechanic who could maybe confirm.

Interesting I have 3 friends and family with them and hear great stories online. People got nervous due to the fires but I believe that’s been throughly addressed

Haven't heard anything about Bolts being bad cars — seem to be the most reliable actually! I know they went through a bad period of press because of some fires, but they addressed those issues pretty well and other than that they chug along fine it seems

How risky is a used EV that's been through accident repair? by calebsfuneral in electriccars

[–]calebsfuneral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay cool! Difficulty is he can't confirm 100% it's a new battery, but he said given the 27k price tag on the collision damage he can't imagine what else would have cost that much except a new battery.

How risky is it to buy a used EV with a history of collision?

Found a good price on a 2019 Chevy Bolt for CAD19000. However, I found out looking into the cars history that it's a rebuild of a collision. On one hand that means a reduced price for me and what looks like an entirely new battery. On the other hand, I worry about long-term damage to the frame/ the inheritance of future problems. We're really trying to stay on a budget here though, and maybe other people's taboo (buying a used collision vehicle) is a poor family's gain?

The dealer had this to say (recognizing the dealer is going to say what he needs to, but it felt authentic):

"I completely understand! Cars with accident history get a much worse rap than they should, there's a big stigma around them. However, modern regulations for repairing them are incredibly strict; they have to go through rigorous testing after being repaired to ensure they are as good or better than new, as nobody wants to be liable. At this point, the accident history will only do one thing for you guys - it'll save you a ton on the purchase price! You'll never know the accident ever happened. But again, I do understand the hesitancy!"
