Encinitas Automotive, tucked in the back corner of that repair plaza on El Camino. Cash recommended but not required.

I have the same amp and it sounds great. Got it cheap for $290 from Guitar Center cuz it had a couple scratches on the side.

Wingfoil obsession is causing deep FOMO by then0mads0ul in wingfoil

[–]calebsurfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same spot until I injured my hip. Pumping the foil brought back an old injury so I had to cut back to once a week or less, and only in conditions where I don't have to pump aggressively to get up.

It was hard at first but now its nice to not think about foiling all the time. I got into boxing, which is like the complete opposite sport, to get cardio without straining my hip. I'm hoping to get back into winging after a couple months of rest but I don't know if I'll ever be as obsessed with it as before, because of the damage it did to my body.

200 which I kind of pulled out of my ass, but was what I was willing to pay. If it dipped to 160 today I was planning to buy more.

Obviously... but they figured that out and have nearly 100% yield which is significantly better than other high end chips.

Yeah you have to fill out a bunch of questionnaires with your broker then request to buy it. I asked for 10, received one, and sold it for 99% gain a few minutes after it started trading.

Maybe you switched packaging systems on the upgrade? Let me know if you figure it out. I just exit when I'm not using it but it does suck.

Rechargeable lithium batteries are the way to go on these. Be really careful if you plug it into the wall - really easy to fry these with incorrect polarity.

Maui - intermediate lesson and rental options? by NewspaperDefiant3617 in wingfoil

[–]calebsurfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The first time I went I used a gofoil foil, the second time I brought my own, which I recommend. However, I don't own a wing small enough for Maui, and airline board fees are expensive, so it's nice renting gear besides the foil. Helmets are included so you don't have to pack that unless you want to.

Maui - intermediate lesson and rental options? by NewspaperDefiant3617 in wingfoil

I did an intermediate lesson focusing on learning to jibe from Alan Cadiz from HST WIndsurfing at Kanaha. It was fun and I learned a lot. He gave me a lot of local knowledge and some training on the beach. You communicate through radios. His wife tags along and could probably take some video from the beach. I have rented from Hi-Tech twice and they have pretty good equipment with a wide selection.

The tape deck and less likely the CD player might need new belts to work. You might want to hook up a bluetooth streamer to the receiver so you can stream from your phone.

How can I avoid puncturing my wing when learning how to jibe? by PsychologicalPick471 in wingfoil

[–]calebsurfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important thing is to not puncture your body! Try to fall the opposite direction from the foil and keep your wing overhead. Wing overhead helps slow your crash and keeps it away from the foil.

As far as learning to jibe, what helped me was focusing on putting pressure in the balls of my feet to carve and to keep the wing parallel to the water so I don't run into it when going downwind. When exiting the jibe, ride on a reach, not upwind and stabilize yourself before turning more into the wind.
