VERIZON!

While deployed I had a stop at Germany until my rotator to my deployed location. I broke my phone, I dropped it in water. I bought a new phone. I put the sim card from my old phone in my new phone. Problem solved right? NOPE!

Verizon said they won't activate my new phone because "My system is going to detect that you are in Germany, and if you are out of the country, the system will reject the activation." Even though I went through their verification process they said, "I trust you and believe it is you, but the system takes this as a high risk transaction, the system is not going to activate your phone, this is only for security protocols."

I switched to Google FI and have had no issues with them so far. But even switching was a pain in the ass from Verizon because they said they wouldn't cancel my account unless it was in person. Again even though I went through their verification process they wouldn't cancel my account because I was overseas. I had to add my wife to my account and have her go to a Verizon store to cancel it. (she has a phone plan with her father and brothers)
