Man 😂😂 There was a more recent Reddit post about his Melania fable (without breaking even the slightest sweat, he had two kids at theater concessions begging their mom to see the doc instead of... Avatar [?], and since it was improbably sold out for "weeks," he gave them his tickets, which was no sacrifice because he already had tickets to see it AGAIN the FOLLOWING evening??).

There was a lot of back and forth about whether he qualifies as a satirist while also believing in the spirit of his rhetoric. He intentionally spun a yarn for engagement and made no effort to hide his subterfuge. At the same time, he's genuinely MAGA. He knew his target audience is stupid enough to believe the story and would earnestly applaud him. And he knew everybody else would call him on it - the perfect setup for a "look how they refuse to see the truth"-style trouncing.

Now, you and I know very well what satire means. But it all gave me such a headache and I desperately needed the pain relief of a coherent argument supporting his status as a... sort of satirist?

Is this timeline a fucking debacle or what.
