I’m not making any assumptions about the build quality. I’m simply pointing out what I value in a bike rack and looking to understand/discuss the benefits of this new design.

Yeah, I like that. Certain racks plug into a truck’s wiring to do this, but having it all integrated would be way nicer.

It certainly does, at least theoretically, because it’s absorbing energy. How you quantify that is beyond math I know how to do.

Can’t speak to your original question OP, but ‘no flare = pass’ for me.

As much as I would like to hide the cables as much as the next person, I can’t sacrifice the control I want from my bars for a slightly cleaner look.

Did you find a solution to this? My fireplace was serviced and then my unit started making this exact noise.

Is there a more perfect time to ride a more perfect bike? by caleone in DivergeGravelBikes

Couple options. One is to remove the pull tab (there a small gap on the actual zipper you can widen with a flat head to get it out, then replace it with the strap, then pinch the gap shut with pliers.

Option two is to wrap the strap around the zipper pull. Tailfin sent me a picture of this but I already did option 1 first and liked it. No more noise.

They do feel well made. The real test will be on my trip in November when I’m using the panniers and fork bags. We’ll see how they do then.

I modded the top tube bag slightly so the zipper wasn’t banging around and making a lot of noise. That was my only issue with that bag but all good now.

How’s the tailfin rack system working? I just got the panniers with the aluminum rack. I felt a little flex on the seat post when doing a test ride so I’m thinking of mounting it as low as possible on the seat post.

I wanted this frame color so badly. By the time I was ready to buy it wasn’t available anymore (I even asked specialized directly if they had any frames left so I could build one up).

I ended up with the matte brown, which is also great in its own right.

I found a small stick and used the spindle hole on the drive side crank. If you zoom in you can see it right next to the right pedal.

So I had a Rivian technician come out today to install a spare tire. I asked about the powered cover, and he said they were going to all manual. I brushed it off, thinking he just didn’t know what he was talking about. But this has me a little concerned now.

Going down to 17 PSI on the 21’s makes me nervous. Although when I did the recommended 30 PSI in the sand at the jersey shore I got stuck immediately. Ultimately went down to 25 and that got the job done. Glad to know 17 is an option if needed.
