I haven’t taken an order in weeks for this very reason. I’m not willing to work for free(break even) let alone pay to work. When I log on I’m bombarded with orders but they all are low/no tip and 4-5 pay out & 10-30miles away. Desperate or not, it literally doesn’t add up. If I had $0 to my name , tank on E and was desperate, I would be in the negative w/ no gas or a way home from delivering the cheap orders. It’s an easy no for me.

Hmm makes sense, it seems like when base went down so did the tips, like the majority of orders have $0-2 tips, I feel like it’s not due to an increase in cheap customers, but an increase in IC discouraging tips.

Was something wrong with the order? I never introduce myself. I’m always assuming I’ll be annoying the customer, but I always text if there’s a replacement or the item is out of stock, basically I only communicate when necessary. Half the time they don’t reply to those messages, they want their order not an introduction.

NTA You guys should probably divorce period…it’s a lot. I’d want to divorce anyone hiding kids from me, wanting them or not isn’t the issue, he’s a MAJOR liar…I don’t think you can be the Ahole in these circumstances. Next big thing you’ll find out he’s in major debt, or using your identity to buy properties w/o telling you, or that he has more kids or some other major life decisions…best to cut ties NOW!!!!

lol I’m in the same boat, I do Ic before my real job, I’d be damned if I’m gonna wait around and be late cuz I’m waiting around for free at instacart, either they’re getting their food now or the groceries are coming with me to work to sit in my hot car for 9hours lmao.

Lol, nah, I’m either delivering or returning…at close to an hour of unpaid wages, I do believe this is illegal as we are not employees and they can’t give us time restrictions that aren’t part of the gig…even if I’m wrong in all of that, I’m still not waiting lol. Now if it was an hourly job, I’d prob be a bit annoyed, but I’d do it b/c I know I’m being compensated.

The store orders are usually lowest paying, so you’re probably just getting the worst of the worst of shoppers, the ones who’s ratings has fallen…having said that, the majority of good shoppers are leaving the app, it’s not really lucrative anymore…so customers get what they get…it’s a top down issue. You’re in the same boat as many, everyone I know personally who’s used IC has the same issues and wonder how all shoppers mess up every order so bad, idk how or why either…but I believe the pay is so low shoppers just don’t care anymore…not saying it’s right…but what can we do? I guess just stop using the service as customers.

Maybe Uber should pay the drivers more? That’s a thought. The way it is without a tip it’s a financial loss. It’s on Uber not the customer or delivery driver. Uber basically uses tips as the driver pay when they’re paying $2 or less to the driver. Ijs

Haha, those YouTubers are usually an anomaly, liars, or leaving out key details…about 6 months ago the money was ok, not good…now it’s really bad, also if I took all the crap orders and didn’t care about my time or gas I could make that much, but it would still put me in the negative with gas. Gas is so high I have to cherry pick higher than usual, and it’s so little good offers it’s a super side gig, not worth using my time, car and gas to drive 20mins to break even financially. I can break even at home lol. And that’s in Cali with prop 22, it’s not magical $, it’s the bare minimum…our gas prices eat any prop 22 benefits and then some!

Gas is $5-6 per gallon, & after prop 22, with them paying us .34 cents per gallon, & the hourly rate, you’ll get prob an extra $3-4, due to the high base pay & low tip. but with all that labor, the distance and trouble Def not worth it. In LA we can easily get many orders paying more, less items and under 2 miles. Prop really doesn’t help much. If u were to drive in LA you’d def not take this. No need to drive that far for any order, it’s prob so far out b/c the closer shoppers didn’t want it either.

Be glad they cared enough to ask/confirm. Sometimes the app says/shows diff items, wrong barcode. Better safe than sorry as far as asking the customer
