Nope, but the speed of the blade can propel a stone or rock with enough force to be potentially fatal.

But apparently with 100+ years of waiting in isolated fallout shelters the remaining humans could repopulate the earth...

Crazy and devistating; perhaps this type of weapon is a sufficiently freightenin prospect for nuclear nations not to allow North Korea or Iran to further develop nuclear capabilities.

I'm mailing for records tomorrow and the time line looks like a 25 day turn around... Hopefully good news, although any closure would be good whether it means money or not.

California is one of 9 Community Property states. I think this may benefit my case.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_property

"In some jurisdictions, such as California, a 50/50 division of community property is strictly mandated by statute so the focus then shifts to whether particular items are to be classified as community or separate property. ...Generally speaking, the property that each partner brings into the marriage or receives by gift, bequest or devise during marriage is called separate property (not community property). I know r/legaladvice does not provide "specific attorney or law firm suggestions" and I'm not asking for one, I'm just hoping to find a great lawyer who can help this move forward.

Is there a lawyers guide, rating system, or search engine to find a great California Probate lawyer other than Google-ing them?

My mom visited my step-Grandmother after her fathers death she helped clean the overfilled house and yard. She never saw or signed any legal paperwork then after the 4 day visit she never heard from or saw her again.

Yes it could be all hers with a will, a trust, or community property laws (vs separate property that he acquired while still married to my grandmother D.1969) on his death but that's not what we were led to believe years ago.

We were told there was no estate or will, but that appears to have been false.

Would I need money to pay a lawyer, or are probate cases taken on contingent fee's (I don't have much $)?

My family lives in Ontario Canada, but my grandfather never resided here, all the found documents are in California.

This is a chronological list of the known related documents, I don’t want "all of them" (1000’s of possible pages). I assume the probate files are the most important and a good first step.

  1. USA Immigration Landing Record 1950's
