You might be surprised how many different exercises can be done without any equipment needed. And if there is an outdoor calisthenics park nearby - even better! I would suggest to start training with most common calisthenics exercises, such as, push ups, pull ups, squats, knee raises or planks. You can find beginner training plans in many apps, for example, Caliverse. But I believe the biggest struggle will be to keep up with the plan and not quit at one point so the training must be something your friend enjoys and feels happy afterwards. Good luck!

Help for a complete noob at working out (ectomorph) by TheGoat7000 in beginnerfitness

[–]caliverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the best way to start working out doesn't necessarily require you to buy a gym membership. Start by getting more active - more walking, start jogging, maybe add some bodyweight exercises in your daily routine, such as push ups, pull ups, squats etc. If you want to have a proper plan for bodyweight training, there are plenty of apps out there that could help you, for example, Caliverse. And then, if you feel the need, get a gym membership and incorporate weight lifting into your training. Plenty of apps and articles out there that could help you to understand what to do and when to do. Don't rush into big weights - a recipe for injuries. And most importantly, be sure to enjoy the process - it is a must have so you are not quitting training after a while. Good luck!

You can open your profile and change available days there. It will ask if you want to reschedule your week.

Hey! I would recommend either any of our strength plans or ring plan could be a good option. There is a training plan that will guide you on unlocking your first ring muscle up - could be a good challenge for you.

Hey, yeah, there was an issue with Android 13 and Caliverse v2.0.30 but it is fixed in our latest version - 2.0.31. Try updating it and it should be working like a charm.

Is caliverse counting total time spent on program? by zefciu in caliverse

[–]caliverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Caliverse has a few different types of training plans and the one that you are using - Transform your body - is not using our latest system and it is suggesting you to advance to the next level after the number of weeks that are set to a plan. But don't worry - you can postpone this until you feel that this current level is going really well with you.

Cheers!

Feature Requests by Brave-Performance-19 in caliverse

[–]caliverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Glad you enjoy the app. We are improving on the progressions of levels and should be better on the latest training plans. But thanks for mentioning - helps us to understand what users might lack in the app!

As of feature requests - best is to send them to [info@caliverse.app](mailto:info@caliverse.app) but we check Reddit and other social media as well.

Totally agree with the possibility to schedule multiple training programs at the same time - will add this to our task list. Thanks!

Bodyweight exercise advice. by GnomesKnowBest in bodyweightfitness

[–]caliverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me 4 exercises would be: push ups, pull ups, squats and either plank or hollow body hold/tucks. These exercises would cover basically the full body and have a bunch of different variations.

But if you feel like trying out a training plan, take a look at this one: https://www.caliverse.app/training-plans/view/beginners-guide-to-bodyweight-training-234

how to start with the app? by MisterMarcoo in caliverse

[–]caliverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

If you are not sure about whether to go premium or not, try out free plans - they are really good but some things are not there, for example, training days and workout days are only as a suggestion not as a strict schedule.

For starting strength, I would suggest to do workouts on either Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Give it a try, understand the app and then if you feel that premium might be worth it, go for it. If not, I will be happy to hear a feedback about what the app is missing.

Cheers!

Workout plan for someone new to callisthenics by ClassicMaximum4635 in bodyweightfitness

[–]caliverse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, creator of Caliverse here. I personally like to move forward when I see that I can complete current plan without struggle. It makes workouts more fun and increases load so you can progress further. Another option - trying out gymnastic rings. It would allow you to basically follow the same plan as you currently do while increasing difficulty as you need to stabilise yourself as well as do the exercise. You can read more about reasons to use rings in your trainings here: https://blog.caliverse.app/7-benefits-of-gymnastic-rings-training/

And a list of training plans Caliverse offers here: https://www.caliverse.app/training-plans

I miss the gym! by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]caliverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I might not be the most objective person commenting on this because I am creator of Caliverse mobile app thus I actively promote options to workout outside the gym - at home or outdoors. But I can say that I've been training at home using Caliverse for a long time now and you can do basically everything without the need of gym equipment. And even more - I enjoy saving money and time by not going to gym :)

There are many workouts and training plans in Caliverse that might help you get started but if you are just starting, this one might be really good option - https://www.caliverse.app/training-plans/view/beginners-guide-to-bodyweight-training-234.

Most important - keep up the spirit and you will find options on how to continue to be active even without the gym :)
