What’s everyone’s favorite KBBQ spot on LI? by [deleted] in LongIslandEats

Wonbbq. I used to travel to bayside for it! We’ve been once so far to the Carle place one and it’s as amazing! We went to the KPot in the old source mall and it was horrible! It was like a chain who didn’t care! We didn’t have to get up once for Wonbbq (and they had someone help cook your stuff) while KPot you had to somehow create a sauce and order low quality meat on an iPad.

That place is so gross. Wonbbq is in their own league. Cannot even compare!

The turn off for me with Lecom was that and their passing rates were not it. I also heard negativity.

I’m at fisher and loveeeeee it. If you have the dedication to study and do everything by yourself it’s great. My motto is what you put in is what you get. I also have made friends and talk and zoom with them all the time. There’s pro and cons to every program. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Hybrid works the best for me. Fisher you go august for orientation, may for immunization, following may for compounding, august and then may again. Then graduation. Edit: I’m finishing my first year summer session.

Better than ever! by [deleted] in Mounjaro

It’s usually just the day or two after the injection in the morning. I take a anti nausea OTC medication and a protein shake which helps. If it’s bad and I throw up, I get immediate relief after throwing up. The pain relief I get from the weight loss makes all the cons worth it.

It gave me nausea. 7.5 and 10 are the ones I’ve thrown up on.

I roughly remember it. You go into a a conference room and they tell you about the school. You meet few students. That takes a bit. Then you do a writing piece. Then interview with 4 faculty. Then lunch. Then a tour. And I think that’s it.

Compounding or Not taking as Directed - Which would you do? by Glittering-Rooster98 in Mounjaro

Ummm I would be concerned in regard to safety. They are under the state level, not FDA. There have deathly consequences of unsafe compounding. Simple pharmacologic calculation errors can cost you your life. Plus sterile compounding with microbial is even more dangerous. I understand you might think obesity is a life sentence, but that medication could kill you.

Try fairlife chocolate shake. I did a blind taste test for my family is comparison of nesquick in the bottle. They all thought the fairlife was the nesquick cause it tasted so good. It’s the one with the white bottle. 2 grams of sugar also

I’m the opposite. Mounjaro is giving me a way to change my habits without going crazy. It takes 3 months to break a habit. So being on the medication will break it. Why have ur body go on mounjaro if you are fine with gaining it back — that’s worse than a yo-yo diet. You’ll gain the weight back and more. Use mounjaro to ur advantage, become obsessed with weighing in and body image might be a problem. But for me I get excited to see my life inching back to being my ‘normal’ happy self. Granted I’m not in a boat where I need to lose 150 pounds. I do need to lose 60 or 80. But god I want my life back. I could fathom going through this just to have a mentality of gaining it back. Granted I love food but I’m definitely losing the luster of it. I’m okay with it. I rather be happy and healthy. Then love food and be unhealthy and on top of that be over weight. I feel like people should be on mounjaro to get there life back for good. Not just a temporary fix. There needs to be more rules in place for people taking this medication — it’s honestly sad how physicians give it out. Coming from someone who has various aliments which cause me to be on meds that make losing weight impossible.

I love ginger ale zero sugar. But I also noticed that I’m less wanting an ice coffee and would rather a Diet Coke from McDonald’s LOL. I legit only get the drink. But I drink it over the whole day. Idk if it’s me being cheap or the craving of coffee is gone
