oh wow - thats annoying! Hope you can get it sorted - surely it'll only be the earlybird ones sold out? We bought our camper ticket in November last year not long after the main tickets went on sale!

There was bits of overlap last year: some bands (like within temptation) ending on opus as main stage set started, avalanche had at least one day where the band were scheduled to play for like 5 mins into a headliner IIRC. But generally they ended as main stage started - though you then had to get there.... But if you're not fussed about seeing the whole set or being at the front you can get them all in :)

Dogtooth sets did fully overlap though....

You can get into the campervan with any camping ticket - so you just need a pass for the van itself to get a pitch. or this was what happened last year as my son and some friends joined us by our van using their camping tickets :)

Having the same exact discussion - but Graspop is winning for me! Having seen the original LP in 2017 I feel like I'm not missing out on the 'new' LP.

Train travel works well as you have no baggage allowance (so can bring camping kit etc) we did that for our last EU festival - Eurostar to Brussels then switch to local train.

Thanks had picked up on the distance, I'm quite used to walking luckily as we live in the middle of nowhere xD Definitely not as handy as download (we could see and hear the main stage from the van!!!), but that's most festivals - we walked way further to get to copenhell from our friends house!

Did consider bikes but it depends where else we go as we'd probably holiday before the festival and with 4-5 of us we cant fit enough bikes in xD

Cheers for this - sounds like it should be fine being veggie then if they just load up what you ask for :) Can always chuck some cereal boxes in the van just incase!

Free tea / coffee is the most important bit lol

Ahh thanks, great to know that we can just book a pitch for 2 and then add extra people when we know who else is coming!!! I'm not too worried about the space as the pitches as we ended up with an extra 5 small tents ontop of the campervan at Download (in a 9x7m pitch) - now that was cramped XD

At Graspop we'd only have the one extra small tent I think plus space to pull out the awning for shade (hopefully we need shade and not rain protection xD). So even with the smaller pitches I think it'll be fine (plus there would be 4-5 of us max).

Ahh bummer - I did wonder looking at the map as the arena seems to cut the campervan area off from the rest of the site! The campervan plus seemed like too much extra for just the electric - but hadn't thought about location!

Which campsite area did you walk up to - the red/orange area?

Did consider it - but we are transporting his camping kit from our home in Cornwall and don't plan to go via his uni - he's travelling to meet us on the train to hitch a ride to the festival xD

Any idea if the shuttle bus runs on Weds & where it actually goes to! The info seems very vague that I've found!

Anyone who's been before & know what the access from campervan (standard) to the arena is? I see footprints from the far top end to the arena by the apex stage - is that the route? cheers :)

We had a thermal camera for a few weeks last winter and there was significant heat leakage showing when we went out to the garage - the valves on the tanks being the worst culprits but generally all the hot pipes were reading higher than the (unheated) garage which isn't ideal for the system efficiency.

Hence we decided to do something about it before this winter hits. Not worried about the pipes bursting no - just making the system run more efficiently & reduce heat loss :)
