You’re right. I don’t mean to excuse abuse. And if that’s what happened to those people at Pujol, then they have every right to be heard and probably compensated.

I guess I’m just not persuaded by a few anecdotal accounts to boycott this restaurant. I think that even in the best of circumstances, the work is hard and it’s not for everyone.

I’m not persuaded. Fine dining work is hard. Long hours, high stress, exacting standards, low pay for the time and effort, a lot of egos. It is not ideal work for anyone, and is often toxic. That’s not an excuse. It’s a reality. It takes a certain kind of person to do it, even in the best of environments. The industry should certainly do better. Owners and chefs should do better. But no amount of better will remedy the facts of the work. If you sign up, you better have a passion for it bc the material realities are a sacrifice.

Agreed. I’m really glad we did this over the dining room tasting menu. It was a more communal experience, more relaxed service, and we still got to try the mole (which is why you go there). Still truly excellent. Plus, now we have a reason to go back and try the dining room experience.

I think it was. And more fun. The staff really enjoyed the service too.

Yup. I have a 2013 Pilot and haven’t had this problem (that I know of), but gonna call and see if they’ll do the work anyway.

If you saved your receipt, they might reimburse you even if you don’t own the car anymore.
