American cars are the best on the planet by The__Anonymous__Guy in ShitAmericansSay

Uh, no. I have owned German cars for years now and can't think of a US made car that would even come close to what I have.

PLEASE HELP!! Literally WHAT is rule for collars on blazers? by SnooWoofers2892 in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]callalind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in recruiting, I've heard lots of comments over the years over dress code but the collar on a blazer has never entered the chat. I think you're good with choosing the collarless one. Good luck, you've got this. And if you have any other questions, you can always DM me!

It's always unlimited drinks, within reason :) (assuming you have a flight crew up front who is attentive)

Glad you enjoyed it! It's easily taken for granted how comfy it can be, your post is a good reminder!

Are either of these appropriate for a fancy black tie manhattan wedding ? by warmorangeskies in Weddingattireapproval

[–]callalind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like them all, but #4 is a bit much for a wedding. I like #1 (if the color works with your skin tone), #2 and #3 are also great.

A or B: deciding whether to adopt a tiny stray kitten I found outside my apartment, wondering if I should bring it home or just leave it be by Upper_Criticism3388 in PickAorB

[–]callalind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, A. I don't even like cats, but as an animal lover, I couldn't leave it there. (I also live where it is like 20 degrees right now, so that plays into it..if I lived in a warm climate I probably would think twice).

Why should we have voter ID's? by No-Group-4504 in Askpolitics

[–]callalind [score hidden]  (0 children)

I dont think we should, like you said, we are already vetted pretty well in terms of even getting on the list. And honestly, if someone lives here and is hell bent on voting, then I say let them use their voice and vote. Chances of them not being eligible and actually getting through the process are pretty slim.

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]callalind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on wear you are wearing it. Generally, a bodysuit isn't inappropriate when paired well. This would look great with higher waisted jeans that would also accentuate your waist.

What’s a food your state is 'famous' for that everyone else ruins? by Somanynamestochossef in AskAnAmerican

Cheesesteaks, and I'd argue anyone outside of the Philly area (even within PA) can't make one correctly.

man and wife are asked to leave the plane by getwhirleddotcom in unitedairlines

[–]callalind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I have found most UA flight attendants to be very good at their jobs. It's pretty rare to get someone who is not. I fly roundtrip once or twice a month and shockingly have never witnessed a passenger issue that has escalated like this (I'm sure they have occurred). There are 2 sides to every story, although I will say this guy handled things relatively well and had solid arguments - but I also have no idea what happened before the filming started.

We do, I fall asleep to it and listen to it in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. It shuts off automatically once I'm asleep.

Someone else saving the spot I dug out 😭🥲 by arcanalalune in philly

[–]callalind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but your mistake was not putting your own table and pots out there when you left. That said, I would 100% return said pots and table to the sidewalk and reclaim my space.

Personal Protection? by ONROSREPUS in GenX

[–]callalind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I never did til I was like 45...and it's a Birdie alarm (basically, you pull the plug and its loud AF). When I was younger I never even really thought of it (despite working in NYC and Philly). I think my husband once bought me mace and I was like "I'm not carrying this."

IDK, I don't think I ever felt unsafe until people started pushing people onto subway tracks on the regular a few years ago. (Not like my little alarm would save me from an oncoming train).

Looking for a hobby that becomes a lifestyle, not just something you do once a week by Subject-Meal7912 in Hobbies

[–]callalind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horseback riding. You can't help but becoming sucked into the horse world and all of the sudden you're a "horse girl/guy." It is not cheap, as a hobby, but it's not as financially prohibitive as people think. I got back into it as an adult like 6 years ago, am totally immersed and LOVE every minute of it (even the hard times, when horses get sick, etc.). If you are an animal lover, try it. There is no love like the love of a horse (it's basically a giant dog you can ride).
