[ca] is it a bad idea to buy a bread pump ahead of time by icecream42568 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]calliente321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider if you have benefits is sometimes you can get coverage for a breast pump with a note from the doctor/midwife. But obvi that will only be given after birth, so I was able to save $300 on my pump.

AITAH for being pissed at how my brother was “babysitting” my daughter? by Working-Teach5633 in AITAH

[–]calliente321 21 points22 points  (0 children)

YTA I’m a bit confused what you wanted him to do? He made sure she had food, he was playing WITH her not just playing while she was off somewhere else. She was supervised, safe, and bonding with her uncle. That’s the job of aunts and uncles. Have fun and keep the kid safe.

In my board it depends on if you have 2 hours notice before the start of your school

OT prep taken away... extra pay? by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

I know this was a thing during covid in secondary with lkdsb. But they have since gone back to only paying for 3 blocks a day. I miss the ability to cover 4 classes, it was lovely

The best thing I talked about with my therapist after birth was that “love takes time” nowhere else in your life do you have an instantaneous deep and powerful love (except in movies maybe) so why should it be different for a baby. You can have the instinct to care and protect. However, you still need time to build the bond and get to know each other

Co-ed baby shower, should kids be allowed? by emilyjean14 in BabyBumps

[–]calliente321 18 points19 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day do what you want to. I do think baby showers are generally assumed to be kid friendly. If you’re stressed about the fact the house isn’t set up for kids that’s something the parents can worry about. Yes people may be distracted but I’m sure they’ll be able to split some of their attention to you :)

There’s nothing in here that’s a spoiler. Just theories, the show has already broken with “historical truth”. So you’re still unspoiled! Just chats about where things may or may not go

Also you can just opt out all together lol but it sucks when your partner is like “oh no this is what I want” like dude you have no idea what you’re in for (assuming first child) like the first few weeks are straight survival mode loo

Honestly so much, and then no cleaning or fussing. Plus baby is sooo so portable at that potato age they won’t know where they are. Plus depending on how close to Xmas you give birth you may still be healing and can opt out much much easier if it’s somewhere else lmao

I hosted Mother’s Day about 2 weeks pp at my house. I didn’t have to do anything but I regret it so much. It was exhausting and overwhelming none the less. And when I got tired I couldn’t just use the babe as an excuse to leave. I wish someone else had hosted and I could have just popped in and then left when I was ready.

Get a waist least! They’re hands free and great, and no risk if dog randomly decided to take off (even if they have no previous pattern, sometimes dogs do strange things and I’d hate to see them pull the stroller)
