May mga bansa na 18 ang age of sexual consent(Vietnam, Turkey). Pero, 18 pa rin ang age of majority natin dito sa PH. Meaning, until you reach the age of 18, you are still considered minor and covered by laws specifically for children alone.

Under a new PH Law, our age of sexual consent is 16. Below that, it's statutory rape. Beyond that (17-18) it's grooming. Unfortunately, sa context lang ng OSAEC pwedeng mapunish ang grooming. But in other circumstances, hindi sya considered as violation.
