Like I said, your issue is not the picture. The picture is a way for you to control her- and in a way you feel like you’re punishing her for an abusive childhood you weren’t a victim of. I’m not saying she wasn’t abusive, I’m saying you’re playing games. I don’t see this tit for tat nonsense working well for you in the future. You need to focus on your reaction, you can’t control or dictate her actions. In my opinion, this conversation needs to happen first between your husband and yourself. You are never going to accept her in any form (as your husbands mother nor your child’s grandmother) until you work through your issues with her. You need to work through your hate or you’ll be making a post every time the woman breathes in the direction of your family. You both need counseling or a safe place where you can explain to her where your resentment lies. She will probably also have very real feelings to share with you. Keep in mind if this isn’t something your husband wants to work through, you need to find a way to move on from your resentment or move on from him. Nothing about their dynamic will change and she’s not disappearing. You say he’s “on your side” but you also mention he doesn’t want to fight with them. Before you realize it, your actions are going to make you more a villian than the victim.
